re: Note To AD's around the country. Be very careful who you name as interim coach

Kingbob, you nailed it.
Only thing I would argue is that the Fla loss is largely due to individual mistakes by our players, something that CEO shouldn't be held accountable for. There was no precedent under his brief tenure for what happened in that game, and he isn't out there repeatedly fumbling the ball in the red zone.
I, for one, have no difficulty seeing the immediate overall improvement of the team from Miles to Orgeron. Clamoring for a coach simply to find a coach NOT named Orgeron is pathetic and ignores all of the obvious positives after he took over.

I agree with you . The answer of your first question if they would have won certain games with miles and cam . Maybe maybe not . With miles the team nearly always played down to their opponent. Coach who had no choice for an OC , so he used a man who hasn't Bn an OC in 10 plus years , . The individual games rushing record broke 3 times , total yards per game vs sec broke also. None of that would have happen this year, coach o helped the players get to be what they were. If lsu would hire an excellent OC, which at 1.2 million shouldn't be hard , keep aranda they would be just fine next year with O. Everybody wants an offensive minded coach , and most of them don't give a damn about defense, look at today 48 to 44 Memphis wins . Fans don't need that here

CEO knew going into this that it was a temp position. It was made clear to him that he was not an automatic shoe-in, even if he ran the table. CEO should not attempt to change the deal after the horse is out the barn.... if that is what the OP is implying. It's the obligation of both LSU and CEO to honor the terms of the deal - for the best interests of the program. Sentimentality kills - as we found out with the previous Head Coach.

We should have picked a worse coach right?
Picked one with a weak record. Picked one and gave him one of the most talented teams in the country. Picked one that was a position coach that did not have people knocking down his door to be a coordinator much less a head coach.

Thanks a lot! We are now a little more stupid for reading this senseless post.

Minimizing what Coach O has done is fricking stupid at this point. If you'd rather hire a different coach, that's fine. There are better candidates. But the shite talking of O given what he has done for the program is fricking stupid. You guys need to find room in your tiny arse brains for 1) respect for what O has done and 2) your coaching preference going forward.
Much of the O bashing is in response to those pushing him to be the coach of this once great program. He is to be thanked for serving during this season, his service was needed and he delivered. But, now it seems he along with others want to to place the future of this program on a coach based on his accent? How about his resume? Do you really think that if BDV had been given the job and had even beat Bama and Fla people would be crying for him to get a job? No.
People are calling for O because he is "one of us" not because he is the best man for the job. The best you can say is that he will not mess up what Les built, really?

Others, maybe. You, sir, could not get any more stupid, despite my best efforts.

It's a good start for an interim HC using most of the old HCs staff. Meanwhile the other leading candidate had his OWN staff didn't fare any better in an easier conference.

Do Les Miles and Coach Cam beat Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Texas A&M this year. After what you saw the first four games?
Well, for one thing, Miles has always won at least 8 games per season as head coach at LSU; Orgeron has never won that many as head coach before.
Miles has always beaten A&M.
LSU's RBs ran all over Ole Miss and Arkansas this year, using the same style of offense that Miles always uses (a run-based offense)...so it's pretty safe to say that he would have coached victories in both of those games.
Miles has also done very well against Florida (7-4, which is better than anyone else over those same 11 seasons), so he likely would've won that game this year too.

I have never bashed Coach O.

we have no idea if O would have been Wisconsin or Auburn.
Get the frick out of here with that bullshite. Our offense was beyond bad in those games. Try again as you glorify his holiness Pope Les.

So we keep Ensminger, right? Look at all those records on offense.

I'm calling bullshite on this. A handful of self righteous posters decided to tell the world that O sucked and to remove him from consideration. The rest of the rant said to those arse hats to frick off telling us what to do. Sound familiar. I want Jimbo or Herman personally but if it's Orgeron than I suggest you get on board the O train or go dick ride some other school that is currently winning.

What are you trying to say? O is no dummy- he was smart enough to unload Cam's worthless arse. He also recognized that he needed to stick w/ Etling over Harris.

1) I wasn't responding to you
2) I wasn't saying Miles couldn't have won those game - you could argue either way. I was pointing out that it is questionable, and that those were not gimme games. The trajectory of the year was not good when Miles was canned, but Miles could've turned it around given the opportunity just like O did. Don't understand why people take away from O that he had the team ready to play and won a number of games that could've gone either way (and blew out a number of those teams).

Merely pointing out that O was 3-21 in conference at his only permanent Hc job doesn't make anyone self righteous. Only rational.
