against, North Carolina,Oregon,TCU or Wisconsin...All wins for LSU and all first games of the year. The same should happen Saturday night against and out-manned Miss. State team who was actually trailing Southern Miss.10-7 early in their game last night.

So I'm guessing neither did Georgia, Ole Miss, and Florida? They still should have smoked them.

Good point. The only thing that concerns me is none of those were true road games.

I wasn't aware that Oregon, Wisconsin and company played a game before us in those years.

We have one similar situation in recent time, and that was 2002 against Va Tech. We got drummed.

Yep. We will make a lot of mistakes at State and even though they are down from last year it will be tough to get a W.

The only thing that concerns me is that there is a theory of how a team adjusts between games 1 and 2.

I told myself that too but the difference here is that none of those teams had a game under their belt and the location were neutral sites...

I do believe that we can overcome that though...

Those were more experienced offenses. We definitely needed the offense reps.

I'm just so tired of people bringing up the "playbook" issue. Very few plays/formations are so new that they confuse DCs.

DCs generally know what the other team's offense does. They know their players and their strength and weaknesses. So the whole "playbook" issue is overblown.

The key is to be unpredictable with play-calling and keep the defense guessing. Show different formations and run from passing formations and pass from running formations. Just keep them guessing - that's the key.

Yep, and by a less talented team.

I believe the biggest advantage is lack of film State will have on LSU. Regardless of how much or how little they opened their play book.

If a team is relying on this to win, then they are already screwed.

True on the less film State has on LSU although I think there would have been a few different plays, but Miles would have been basic throughout the night.

I feel if we cannot beat State then how will we beat Bama and other strong teams. Lets see how we play as our first game against them without the McNeese game and that will show what we are made of.
