Which fan helps LSU recruitment and on field talent more, O haters or O pumpers.
For the good of LSU football, who should STFU?!

This is how this whole thing works. Realistic fans point out legitimate criticisms. Pumpers respond with things like:
Shows the maturity level and intelligence of your average Orgeron fan. You guys can’t actually defend him in an argument, so you lower yourselves to name calling and cursing and calling us “haters”

It's not going to die so accept it. Just like y'all have the right to bitch and moan. Many here believe in this team and have from the get go.
Many here can't say that. It looks like almost all of his offseason moves helped this team out. QB/STs coach/FG kicker/Kickoff specialist/Sullivan/Steve E/The JUCO additions. So it seems that he actually does know how to win and help to win now as well as build for the future.
Bringing Burrow in and marrying him with Steve may turn out to be one of the smarter things an LSU HC has done to give immediate success at LSU and help build for the future.

Listen, if you criticize, expect to be criticized. That's just how life goes, chief.
This needs to be remembered if we lose a game because all these asinine calling out other fans will probably be repeated the other way

Pumping isn’t necessarily good for a team. Neither is legitimate criticism of a program. When us “haters” criticize legitimate parts of the program, like the maturity of our head coach or our consistent lack of offense, we are making a point to the athletic department and coaching staff that those things need to be improved. Whereas if they listened to y’all, they’d continue to do things the same way, and we’d continue a deep plunge into mediocrity

I can promise you, I am still positive O is not the right coach for us, but if we go undefeated and win the natty I will.be the happiest moflo on this earth and GLADLY admit I was an idiot and wrong about O. Very encouraged with the game last night, but we have a long way to go.

Listen, when we lose all hell will rain down like it always does. People can't wait to get their negative comments posted. It's a given.

Hurts to be wrong, huh? Now be an a-hole, too!

I don't really care about this topic. But this last line here is rich. All off-season, the negas were running down Coach O and Coach E and saying that we were going to go 6-6 or 7-5 or worse despite being talented. They helped create and perpetuate this narrative of a program in decline. Day after day after day after day. It was a drumbeat. It fed into the national media perception. It feeds into recruiting.
And many of us responded with "can you let the season play out before running down our team?"
Fast forward to game one and LSU demolishes a top 10 team on national television. Causes Herbstreit to tweet a mea culpa. And it was largely due to COACHING. The scheme and game plan was spectacular. If anything, there were execution issues that prevented us from more points and allowed them to make the score more respectable. But the coaches all did a fabulous job.
And after a lot of these guys get called out for what they did all summer long, they come back with:

Let the season play out before you continue to say “I told you so”
frick off

What a load of

Only two things affect the department and coaches, W and Ls plus revenue.
You are overestimating fan influence. Only the opinions of BIG DONORS influence the AD and HC.
But pumpers help recruitment, and haters hurt it. Plus pumpers had a much more enjoyable off season!
Harder to recruit a kid and his advisers when the next coach tells them you’re a full of shite clown and uses your fans to back it up!

This line is also equally rich.
The people who constantly run down Coach O do not want LSU to lose. Rather, they believe that by bitching and moaning all off-season, they are pressuring the administration to have a quicker leash on Coach O. They genuinely believe that firing O soon is in the best interest of the program.
Now, I happen to disagree and I think that those of this mindset also do damage to the program and it's esteem. Which ultimately makes things worse. But I get why they do what they do.
One win is not going to make them stop, no matter how great of a coaching job the staff does (and let's face it, the coaching was superb last night). If we lose to Auburn, they will be out in full force.
O is a big boy. He knows that he has critics. He also knows that if he wins, those critics will get softer and softer. They will never really go away unless and until we win a national title (and even then that only buys a coach at LSU one season, maybe two before the critics come back).
I personally wish we had a fan base that was more patient. But they do it because of their passion for LSU, not because they hate the team.
