You realize that serving alcohol in the stadium has shown to decrease binge drinking and alcohol related incidents inside the stadium?

Once again, why did LSU just change this if it was such a logical, effective, efficient, and correct way of doing things?

The demand isn't there. Try selling tickets. Can't give them away.

seriously though, screen for weapons and ignore the booze. we need booze at LSU games; les miles drives us to drink.

See how well it is working?
LOL...so right. It's like using dandruff shampoo and someone questions why you use it because you don't have dandruff. Hmmmm......

So then why did LSU stop doing it at the end of the season?

They literally changed it and hired an outside security team last season. It was identical to going to a Saints game the last two years.

LSU admitted to causing a terrible experience after the 1st game of the season too. I'm not even sure what you are trying to argue here.

It wasn't even about the cavity searches. It slows down the line, but whatever. It is about the complete disrespect shown to the students by the police officers and the people at the gates.

It is supposed to be one the best parts about attending LSU. It shouldn't have major negative aspects.

Big reason why LSU changed it at the end of last year.

Malarkey. Neither section I have season tickets in compares to the language coming out of the student section.

Edit: Reading comprehension is a little slow today. Yea, going through the gate there really blows. I feel like a criminal just walking in there.

LSU students are treated like cattle for football games.

No wonder LSU has a hard time getting donations from Alumni. It's a disgrace to see how bad they are treated during football games.

The lines are horrendous, being constantly pushed around, poked and proded, then having to basically undergo a strip search.

People have already mentioned how big time boosters and season ticket holders get preferential treatment. But there is one point perhaps above all:

If you are a university, the two groups you don't want doing anything embarrassing on your campus during high-profile events are student-athletes and regular students. It should be self-explanatory.

To me it is very simple

Wear shorts do not have a purse, or a carry on, put your lipstick in your pockets. As well as your money,

Nobody here is going to take you (or anyone else) seriously about cops or security being dicks. Even though you're 100% right, they'll get the benefit of the doubt because of the reputation of our student section.

With the new south endzone and terrible parking situation I gave up my season tickets because I knew I could go every game for well below face value and for Bama get tickets for face.

The stadium especially the student section is a lot calmer than it use to be and from the free hernia checks the police give the students I understand why.

To protect them from themselves... Have you ever set in the Student Section? They will throw anything, fall down drunk, and get just downright onery (spl?). No, It is not all of them or the majority either but if not checked there are some that cant control themselves.

How do I know? I have sat there many years ago and my kids now sit there now and it has not changed.

I might add that if it should have happened that your nephew got hit in the head with a whiskey bottle and was injured you would be second in line behind your lawyer wanting to know why LSU didn't do something to prevent that...

Yeah, there are problems all over the stadium but it is a war zone in the student section when compared to the rest of the stadium.

Call down it's not that bad. Forgive college kids for partying. Yes there are a few kids who get to drunk but that's college.

I agree that the Troopers at the student gate get way to aggressive with the search and have for quite a while. I was a student in 2007 and have a clear memory of a Trooper grabbing the front of my shorts and shaking it for several seconds. The ziplock bag of bourbon almost slide down my leg. I was carrying contraband but still felt slightly molested.

Students are part of The school. Students pay and sign up for school at LSU knowing that they could get patted down at events. LSU is in charge of its students, they are no necessarily in charge of random fans. They must protect themselves and students. If they miss one student who is wasted and has some drug on him and goes in the game and idea or hurts someone then they are in trouble.
