I'll give everyone a hint: It's the same reason a niche sport (college baseball) is so popular at LSU.

When LSU hoops is winning consistently however, the support for that dwarfs baseball. It happened during most of the Dale years, and was coming back under The General. Hopefully coach Mac can keep it rolling.

You obviously haven’t been following the content of this forum if you can say “no one”. Well no one is going to say “hate”, there are a number of guys who want to contend that his play this season was either terrible or bad.

And what exactly would be the purpose of thread after thread after thread pointing out his shortcomings when he quarterbacked the team to a win over Bama, the SEC West title, and the team voting him most valuable player. And please, don’t tell me it’s just explaining how much better he needs to become. 11 games into the season we were the fifth ranked program in the country. it’s not exactly like the team was sucking with JD at QB.

Did anyone see Us as both beating Bama and winning the west in September? I sure and the hell didn’t. We did both of those things and a lot of that had to do with the ability of the guy who played quarterback for us as demonstrated by the team voting him most valuable player.

Didn't Dale's best years precede Skip's? It wasn't like they were competing for the same 'time slot.'

Maybe not but there are some that hope he flops in our “meaningless” bowl game to say they were right all along and Nuss would be better.

“I don’t hate Daniels I just want him to be benched and if not I want every WR to transfer to an SEC opponent and for LSU to lose every game Daniels starts”

They might not hate him but they have an irrational dislike for his on field play based on some unrealistic expectations and stereotypes

Yeah nobody hates him. People just compare the guy who had one of the best qb seasons in the history of the program to the most hated player in the history of the program, and other qb’s who sucked and were hated, cause they just want JD to improve. That’s all.

OP says he sucked against Georgia. Yeah, clearly you aren’t biased. This shite started from the first game of the season when everyone blamed him for losing against FSU even though he drove LSU down the field in scoring position on 5 out of 7 possessions.

You wanna know how I know people hate him? He beat Bama in an all time classic in Tiger Stadium, won the SEC West, and people still shite on him and want him gone. If Andrew Hatch had the season JD just did, the same people shitting on Daniels would want a statue built for Hatch.

Only if the starting QB has serious deficiencies that are holding the offense back, and the backup QBs are considerably better at that deficiency. That is what LSU has presently.
JD has good skills but they are not the skills that gets the most of what QB's are needed to be good at this level to be champions. Nothing against JD personally. He has had 4 years of starting QB prove he had what it takes, and he has simply proven that he is lacking. LSU needs to move in a different direction so the offense can blossom. It is never going to improve until a strong arm passing QB that can see the field and throw receivers open is leading the Tigers. Sorry, but that is just a fact.

I think you have to misjudge poorly written criticisms as hatred.

I have seen people say he is trash, those words, verbatim. No other words. Seen them say he is selfish. Seen them wish he had declared for the draft or even wish he had not transferred to LSU. Actually seen people post he was the worst LSU QB in the last 20 years. The tone of those posts was worse than what a simple description can really put forward. However, the worst of them were often quickly removed, much to the credit of the TD admins.

And those are not the majority of the posters, just a few. But to say there are none is as disingenuous as saying they are common.

Agreed that is the bulk of what I see and depending on which of my responses you see, you may think I am 100% JD or anti-JD. I am more 100% whatever is best for LSU. FTR I think the future is Howard and it may be as soon as next season but probably 2024.

I agree with you on Howard, and maybe even Nuss, but I think he will be gone before next season now that he knows JD will be the starter next year. The problem I have is that I believe LSU is going to waste an excellent development year for Howard or Nuss by playing JD and getting probably the same record, around 7-8 wins. We don't know good our passing game will be with Howard or Nuss, but we do know we will see more of the same with JD next year, and to me, that is a serious mistake by BK. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not!

if he doesn’t show significant improvement throwing the football, we’ll see more games like Arkansas, Texas 4&8, and the first half of UGA, and a lot less like Florida and Bama. SEC defenses are too good to not figure out how to stop his running.

The LSU coaching staff gets paid too.

I expect them to handle business.

I have said this repeatedly, but according to the board, Joe Burrow didn’t deserve to start in 2019 because he wasn’t good enough in 2018.

I trust the coaches instead of the rant.

Do you ever distrust a coach? What about Curley? Ed? Polian?

Let’s say for the sake of argument that LSU had a starting QB with a propensity to turn the ball over too much and who lacked the ability to make plays with his feet. Would you be making the same argument?
