So do you think LSU staff knew about the gambling and layed off of pursuing him? That is my suspicion.

Absolutely not. By all accounts, we were all in on Sorsby.
Do you remember the picture of Leavitt sitting court side at the LSU bball game with Lane and just on his phone like he wanted to be anywhere else in the world?
That's when we really heated things up to try and get Sorsby - then he picked TT - then Lane knew he had to be all in on Leavitt and flew to Knoxville.
We got lucky. Plain and simple.

In some other universe: BK is still our HC, we’re losing our minds after going all in on Sorsby, and now BKs plan is to start a walk on at qb

You know what, I think you're right. We might've already lost out on the Sorsby sweepstakes at that point?

Yea, pretty sure Sorsby was done deal to tech and the news about demond Williams entering portal came out right about the time of the game and we cooled off on Leavitt. Then when Washington basically said "you're not leaving without paying x million" was when Lane jetted to Knoxville. Pretty wild sequence

No thats when we started getting rumors about the kid from Washington. Sorsby chose TT before we really went after Leavitt.

Full credit to Lane, he saw that Sorsby wasn’t gonna happen and he wasn’t going to be able to pull Demond so he went all in to get Leavitt. In a month timespan, CLK did more work than BK did in 3 years. (I’ll give BK credit for his portal haul first year)

Leavitt came way after LSU lost out on Sorsby. He didn't save LSU from anything.

Keep in mind that that universe absolutely exists out there and there are versions of ourselves wondering what it would’ve been like had we fired BK and hired a different coach. Pray for yourself.

I remember seeing that and being concerned. Hopefully that was just an out of context still shot. I would love to see a video of what happened before and after.
