And all

But what about the 100k plus fans and season ticket holders who pay for tickets, absurdly priced food/beverages, and a coach who makes $10mil/yr (I really like BK, I’m just saying)

The idea of fans donating to a collective and it being sold to us like we can really make a difference is…frankly absurd lol

I already pay taxes. And again, it’s expensive as hell to go to a game. What more do I really need to do

EDIT: and don’t we all hate NIL? Why would I support something that we all unanimously agree is dog shite

And that in and of itself is ridiculous.

I get sick and tired of regular people getting nickeled and dimed into oblivion. I love LSU and I love Louisiana. Maybe when I’m a millionaire I’ll feel differently and I’ll donate a shite ton

But as it stands, this feels like passing a collection plate around

What do you consider the LSU job to be as compared to the following schools:
ND
Michigan
UT
TAMU
Bama
USC
UGA
Oregon
Penn State
tOSU

If LSU is not as attractive a job then I agree, Kelly isn’t worth it. You people are such freaking tools and revisionists. Go look at what happened. Mel Tucker, who isn’t coaching anymore, signed for 10MM. You thinking taking a coach from ND, you weren’t gonna pay for let alone the winningest guy in college football and who has rebuilt and won a ton at every school he has coached at? Get fricking real.

So lower ticket or concession prices so that we can. There isn’t some unlimited pool of money. They average fan is already strapped thin as frick with inflation.

Paying High School players is dumb, they haven't proven shite at a high level. This is the biggest waste of money in all of sports.

Keep stomping your feet.
We have 2 options:

1. Bitch and cling to the past of college sports, and fall behind
2. Accept the present, adapt and win.

There is no option 3. We need to fricking choose accordingly

They can’t directly fund to NIL. But they can create NEW salary positions that help manage these players Image in order to get them NIL money. As well as contract to firms for different roles in developing players in the NIL space. No that bump in ticket price doesn’t go into players pockets, but make no mistake, the increase in cost to fans is tied into the NIL arena

We’ve done it, yall.

We’ve now bitched about literally everything! Only LSU could have fans who bitch about other fans that donate to the athletic program in an effort to make our favorite team better.

Congratulations, everyone. We’ve made it to the big time now.

Yet they gamble all the time. I heard college kids talking about gambling at games this year.

I am really curious how the guys who "hit the jackpot" in this recruiting cycle turn out. Will they still have the hunger to continue to improve their craft?

Or, will they just go through the motions since they have more money then their parents have made in all their lives.

That is in preparation for revenue sharing because everyone knows it will happen. They can’t use it yet.

The attractiveness of the job is diminishing if we can’t keep up with NIL like many claim.

I’ve loved LSU sports for 40+ yrs, season tickets in football and baseball and can honestly care less. If we suck, we suck. I rather keep the money and spend it on my own personal enjoyment than some 17yr old I don’t even know.
Maybe LSU could give back to people who donate? Discounts on tickets/concessions, they are greedy and just want to be the rich panhandler.

That’s great! That means you can’t complain about recruiting.

I don’t……it is what it is

The biggest kicker is NONE of this has one iota to do with NIL. NIL was a mechanism put in place so kids could earn money by signing autographs/merchandise sales/product endorsements….this is a bastardization of it that’s just pay to play. If I was inclined to give, I’d have a kid advertise for my business, where both sides get something.

option 3... stop caring about college sports. I love sports, particular at the collegiate level.

I'm all for players being able to make money off their image and likeness.... if a local car dealer or restaurant wants to pay a player some cash to do a commercial, I'm all for it.
However, what NIL has become is nothing more than who can buy the best team.
It's really taken the fun out of it for me.

but, I'm old now... Stay off my lawn!!
