I am happy that we are getting a new coach, at the same time hope this sudden decision isn't anything medically related that came up recently. I have a feeling she saw the writing on the wall and/or she was encouraged by the AD.

I thought this was a good hire at first but it didn't work out. It happens, best of luck Nikki.

Spoken like a knuckle dragging, mouth-breathing cave man

Cancel track and field; swimming and diving; gymnastics; softball; men's basketball some years; etc. Cancel every sport that is non-revenue producing and eliminate hundreds, if not thousands of athletes who have obtained a college education via athletic schollies or perhaps, you'd just want to take that opportunity away from female athletes?! Title IX ain't going nowhere!

I hope she stays, she seems to enjoy college ball but I know things won't be the same or awkward without her aunt there.

Now get to see if Woodward is worth anything. This will be his first real hire at LSU

And what, increase the attendance from 50 people to 300? Frick that, save the money.

Absolutely!

The uncomfortable reality for some is that WBB is generally the LARGEST single money-loser in a major college's athletic department. In the 17-18 season LSU's women's basketball program operated at a LOSS of $4 million dollars to the AD. Second on that list was gymnastics (which was the national runner up). It lost $2.7 million. In that same season Louisville's WBB went to the Final Four...and STILL lost $3.8 million for the AD.

I have nothing personal against WBB but the reality is it is a TERRIBLE investment for any athletic dept. And the biggest expense contributing to that awful ROI is inflated coaches' salaries. Even if LSU were to hire a great HC and pay him/her more than the $700k they were paying Fargas WBB would STILL operate at a tremendous loss. In fact, it is feasible the loss could be even greater because you just increased your largest expense for the program...coaching salaries.

Have to wonder how it would've turned out if she kept Starkey. Just from a lay of the land purpose it would've been invaluable.

Speaking of, he left A&M to go to Auburn with Coach J. Harris. A bit surprising but he's a very good coach and recruiter.

Vandy just canned white and brought in the assistant from UCONN.

Curious what direction LSU goes

Glad it happened. Use to love wbb. But I wish Nikki the best. Seemed like no infractions, not much drama for 10 years. Just not much talent
