Time for LSU to find another uniform supplier, maybe Under Armor.

I pray we never lose Nike.

Look, if you personally want to never buy Nike again because they chose to do an ad with someone who makes a peaceful protest that has literally hurt no one, fine. That’s your prerogative as an American.
But it’s silly to suggest that LSU, or any major university should pull their deal with the company that is objectively better than all the others at producing athletic wear over such a thing. Especially when I guarantee that the majority of the players on the team will support his decision to do what he does.
I will never sit, kneel, or do anything other than stand at attention for the anthem. But others have the right to do so. Stop blowing things out of proportion.

Nah. Nike is just fine.
Fake outrage.
Fake outrage.

I tend to agree with everything said here. As a former Army officer I find it contradictory to claim I would fight for our freedoms while denying the right of one our citizens to peacefully protest.
However, I also believe that while we have a right to peacefully protest without fear of imprisonment or persecution by the government it does not mean there is a guarantee there will be no consequences for our actions. I do take exception with the Nike promotion suggesting sacrificing everything...there have been many who have sacrificed much more than money and prestige.
This is a a quandary for me.

First of all, thank you for your service. I, and everyone else on this board, owe you a debt of gratitude.
All I would say is that the guy has straight up recieved death threats, so the risk is a bit more than fame and money. Also you have to take into account the hyperbole and catchiness Nike tried to achieve because it is, at the end of the day, an advertisement.
But yes, there are certainly people who have sacrificed far more than Kapernick has, and if our society reflected more upon the consequences of our actions, free as we may be, it’d be a better place to live.
The main point was that it’s not nearly controversial enough for a school like LSU to pull an athletic wear deal over. Hell theres a better argument to be made over pulling our deal with Nike over how they treat their workers in some of their sweat shops than over this thing. But no one gets outraged over actual issues like that.

Who is denying any rights? Some just want to show out without consequences.

Evidently you have never served and have never suffered the loss of someone who has. frick Kapernick! Shame on Nike for making him a hero. Here’s an idea. Donnte a bunch of free shoes and clothes to veterans hospitals, veterans groups or the military as a whole.
