I just don't understand why anyone thinks Saban wants anything to do with LSU. Every year he was in Baton Rouge he flirted with some other team: Notre Dame, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears. And if someone thinks it was the work of his agent, how come the only time you ever heard about him looking at another job at Alabama was one time with Texas?

I think the man enjoys stirring up stuff to irritate LSU and Alabama fans. Ever since the 2005 Citrus Bowl I'm convinced the man couldn't care less about LSU.

You’re missing my overall point though.
I’m not missing your point at all. However, being accurate shouldn’t be a luxury or considered petty. It’s not my fault you lacked correct timing of events and now just want to argue about it. Lots of posters calling you out in this thread for various reasons, you may be the problem.

I thought it was impossible for Belichick to ruin his legacy but somehow he did. I wonder if that’s in the back of Saban’s mind.

Ok so first of all, none of you know jack shite, nor do I. However, there is a reason why Vegas has him at the top. Inside info? Trying to get a ton of bets on his hiring to scam bettors? Who the hell knows. I do recall, however, that his wife and kids liked Baton Rouge, and he might want to retire there. Let’s just let it play out.

Nick Saban in 2005…

good lord.

That was 20 years ago when he was in his mid 50s and in the prime of his career.

And before this ridiculous NIL and portal world.

Zero percent chance Saban coaches again. Zero.

Yeah it’s almost inconceivable he’d come back and these threads are kind of embarrassing

Saban not so great with a level playing field. Emmert and REC not there to give him the advantage.

2 things have happened which is giving people hope.

1. LSU made an attractive, short term offer to Saban through his agent Jimmy Sexton.
2. Saban did not say “No”.
