Lange didn’t have near the preseason hype from coach manure that Marceaux had and he was unhittable start to finish his freshman season. Lange wasn’t even the most heralded pitcher of his class, that was Jake Latz.
Manure on Marceaux in January: “has Nolan Ryan’s fastball, Clayton Kershaw’s curve, Tim Lincecum‘s change-up with the poise and command of Greg Maddox.”
I’m not writing off Landon but clearly Manure wayyyy over did himself as he does every year with many players. He does the opposite of what most successful coaches do in regards to hyping freshman.
