Don’t think they saying that at all but you can’t have it both ways is the point. If you are going to break a leaked story before the coach can talk to his players, fine. That being said, it is pretty shitty dog a coach for not telling his players before the story got leaked.

To be fair, Russillo has actually been pretty level headed about the whole thing and did a whole spiel about how there never is a good way to leave a program.
He just tries really hard to check any canned answers and make sure he’s not falling into the same boring questions they can get asked and answer on any regular media car wash. Sometimes it creates really good interviews and other times it comes off as him fishing or basically taking over the interview with his own interjections and over qualifying every question
ETA that being said it was quick hilarious when he had Leinart on his pod last week who sat there and ripped Kelly for leaving the way he did and said he should’ve done it more like Lincoln because Lincoln cried during his into press conference when talking about OU

Holy shite.
Did Russillo call him out on it? I haven’t listened to Russillo’s podcast since shortly after his radio show ended, but I always thought he went out of his way to be objective and avoid the “flavor of the month” media takes. That was what made SVP & Russillo so great IMO - they just tried to be honest.

But since you brought it up, you have to be deaf, mute & blind not to notice that BOTH political parties & BTW, most college football teams try like hell to get the media to spin their stories in a way that is favorable to their team! It’s the way of the world currently. Geez! I don’t have the time or room to cite you examples where politicians used the same tactic against their opponents.
