well played chicken. Infact Tulane could forfeit their game. Let LSU take that Saturday slot and would make a hell of alot more money than they would playing their game

have you driven down LSU avenue in the past, oh, 10 years or so? they have branches RESTING ON THE POWER LINES

i've never once seen people maintaining the branches on the trees on campus

the guy on the OT replied with how trimming the branches (which lie on the lines) would be ugly, and therefore not an option

I'd be very surprised if trimming or pruning overhanging branches weren't completely within the rights of the power company and/or the City-Parish government, and not the homeowners.

But when they don't have those things, can it really hurt for you to do it yourself? To not do, not because your can't, but because you won't like the resulting look, is pretty stupid.

Or at least it is if you also bitch about the power outage.

Day before Katrina, we fell about 6 trees on the wind facing side of our house and power lines, and as a result our house didn't have a scratch to it, nor was the local portion of the power line damaged.

Tulane has a home game that day. But, the question is, does Tulane really need to play their game?

Move it to Pan American

This could be true...

Good luck convincing anyone to cut down the older- -than-Lou Holtz live oaks anywhere in Baton Rouge- they're too cherished. Tree maintenance is quite routine in Baton Rouge. I've seen it along Brightside.

You had an argument with one guy about one street and project that into all the residents of the entire city?

I believe that this is the case.

you know you can remove trees that could become potential problems and trim back branches that are threats, right

I always have my trees thinned out before hurricane season...its the prudent thing to do. Never had a tree knocked over yet.

they could play it on Sunday in the Dome

dont know how they would work out the ticket situation...maybe allow some to watch it in the Arena too

but we need a tune up before Auburn, 100%

there is more than enough time to move the game to their campus or even shreveport. maybe even the superdome.

Your life must really be empty if your biggest concern is whether or not LSU plays another game before going to Auburn

How empty does a person's life have to be to troll message boards misreading posts and complaining about how OTHERS have no life?

Nobody said it was their biggest concern in life, but if the game truly were someone's biggest concern in life, then they'd be pretty lucky.

LSU will be fully powered by the end of this week and i see classes happening next week for sure... but its going to take an extraordinary clean up effort to get the campus into game shape. There is lots of glass on the ground around the stadium and debris everywhere. Roofs are damaged and leaking along with downed trees still being removed around campus. On a good note, the roads entering and leaving campus have improved a lot.

Why not play the game in daylight? I know we all hate that, but better than another postponment.
