So if we look great but sustain a 1-point loss to Bama, a bunch of teams will pass us up? How does that work? If the committee thinks those other teams could do any better than a 1-point loss wouldn’t that mean they should be ahead of Bama right now?

I agree. The "eye test" is BS....if one loss lsu is better than undefeated ND, then a loss to number 1 shouldnt change that opinion.

He's right. He's not talking about teams passing us up. He's saying that if we lose we'll be a 2 loss team and we won't have a shot at an SEC title.

If we lose to Bama by 1 point we would likely fall to No. 7 behind Oklahoma but above Washington State.

I don’t see us jumping an undefeated Clemson. If all goes well, I think it would be...

Clemson
LSU
Notre Dame
Bama

we fricked up losing to uf.

coach O needs to stop losing to inferior gator teams. he's made a bad habit of it, and now mullen is there.

Yes.

When they ditched the computers for the old BCS formula, they brought corruption right back into the process.

If we beat Bama by, say, 10 points, the powers that be will put them in the playoffs (assuming they win out and we win out), and we'll have to beat them again.

That's just the world we live in. Bitching about it won't change anything.

Didn't he say likely? Nothing wrong with that, it's probably true considering other teams standings/records

Of all the shite Finebaum has said this might be the least controversial. Lose and we're a two loss team with no shot at winning our conference. Win and we have the most impressive resume by far.

2 loss team isn't making the playoff, so Finebaum is 100% correct.

This is where that loss to Florida comes back to haunt us big time. Don't wanna turn this into a schedule thread, but LSU playing Florida every year is a much bigger detriment for a loss than it is a reward for a win. Does anyone wonder why one team wants to keep it's annual rent a win against the Vols while voting to force us to continue playing Florida?

We'd have two losses and pretty much no shot to win the conference title. We'd be out.

Conference champs with two losses would get the nod over LSU. We'd need chaos to get back in the picture.
