Oh bullshite. Bill is the iconic voice of Alex Box and last year for many people it just didnt feel right in Tiger Stadium. He has a long history with LSU, he has experience, he had a 1 year audition, and they still went another direction. I love how theres no way Dixon could actually be good. No he's a douche bag, his dad has money, he rubs elbows with the governor.... surely LSU will just hire someone who sounds awful bc of all those things.

Didn’t realize he was the PA announcer at the men’s games last year. I remember thinking he was much better than the screaming hyena roaming around the PMAC with the wireless mic; glad that dude didn’t get the job.

He is PA for the women's games, much to the chagrin of those of us who attend those games.

He was fine with down and distance, reading ads, and cheering after a big play. I just thought he really struggled with the nuances that Dan excelled at.
For example, Bill would say “Chance of rain??????” With this goofy upward inflection trying to get the crowd to shout “never.” Dan would just read it as a statement with a slight pause for dramatic effect.

For the few dozen or so of us that went to most of the basketball games last season I can say he wasn't noticeable in a bad way at all. He had "excited" calls appropriate for the moment but wasn't obnoxious. The game information he provided was accurate and clear. It's not like he was screaming his head off like a Gus Johnson or trying to be "master MC" like you have at some NBA arenas.
He's not going to be Borne and have Borne's style. No one would. But I think the overreaction to this is absurd...and I say that as someone who generally agrees with the personal comments about him.

We sit in West Upper and haven’t heard Bourne in years. His voice got quieter and quieter. I hope this new guy you can actually hear.
