I’ve been away for a few days and trying to keep up. Has jay hinted who will step in for Coop? Assuming Schmidt will jump to the 2nd day starter. Will it be Cowan, Guidry? Or perhaps Johnny wholestaff for Sunday.

I’d like for Garcia to get a shot and save Cowan and Guidry for relief in tight situations.

That would be interesting. I know he was trending as a more reliable piece in the back end of the bullpen role.

Garcia is the only lefty we have that Jay trusts. He’s a matchup guy

They will throw who they need to win Friday and Saturday. Whoever is left will throw Sunday

Cooper Williams needs to step up! Not saying as the starter, not saying as long reliever…whatever the coaches need. Man up Cooper, you have the stuff dammit.

I understand the matchup situation but he’s been better than Williams so far. I think a lefty with good stuff after starting two righties could be a tough adjustment for opposing teams. Can’t really save someone for a matchup that might not come especially in our current situation

Might be a Johny Wholestaff situation with the starter being Cowan, Guidry, or Garcia, depending on matchups and who is used on Friday/Saturday. I am uncertain right now.

I'd rather have Garcia for relief.

Williams has been a major disappointment.

Friday- Evans
Sat- Schmidt

If we can save whoever he wants for Sunday then that person (i would guess cowan) but Jay wants to win the first 2 so if they’re close he isn’t holding out a sunday starter.

I'm confused why anyone is mentioning Garcia, hes always been a reliever in college and has never been stretched out here once (9 batters max), hes not in line to start a game.

Jay was all smiles on the mound with him last night.

So far. Wishful thinking I admit, but he can still help this team down the line
