t’s about violating rules… should we not consider Billy Cannon? Doing stuff as a kid during a learning phase of life is more forgivable than doing much worse as an adult.

No but you dumbasses would put Mathieu and every other smoker up there wouldn’t you?
Cannon was not only removed from the HOF put out back in.

He should have won the damn thing TWICE. Got screwed.

He is the best FOOTBALL player in LSU history. The ONLY comparison is Casanova but he is second. Nobody did as much in so many ways.

Is Gaynell Tinsley up there? Leonard Marshall? Dalton Hilliard? Wendell Davis? Josh Reed? Gosh, so many greats from this university. An argument can be made for all

What rule at LSU did Billy Cannon violate that got him kicked off the team? Not even close to the same thing

I totally agree with take on Faulk If he leaves for pros like he could have who knows LSU path.
Great take on Faulk is he is considered one of great patriots of all time and to play for Belicheck for
13 seasons tells me he was great “team” guy and did it all ie block and catch passes.
He was and is the best HS player I ever saw in person. Truly unstoppable. Carencro would just snap ball to him and off he ran. Against good 5A teams

Two names I haven’t seen yet:

Jim Taylor
Steve van Buren

Both led the SEC in scoring (Taylor twice) but maybe get left off an LSU Mt Rushmore because they are both far more well known for their NFL careers.

One thing I love is a list of awards where many did not exist when other players were competing at LSU.

Number 37 is the most decorated defensive player in LSU History.

3 time first team AA and would have been 4 had they let freshman play.

Casanova was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1995.[9] In 2000, the Walter Camp Football Foundation selected Casanova for their All-Century team, honoring the best college football players of the 20th century.[10] His jersey number 37 was retired by LSU football on October 10, 2009.[11
