Aramark runs the cafeterias at Disney too.

It's ok. Could be better, could be worse. However, there's also a national chain plugged in with it. The one where I worked had Subway there. I think there's also one with a Chick Fil A near TTC. If they do something like that, I'd be impressed.

But compared to the current concessions, it's an improvement.

I hate this "sub it out" world we live in.

There really is no motivation for schools to run concessions anymore. It's simply not a big enough money maker to bother with it. $2.4 mil (for all athletic events) is just chump change to them when you have a $150 mil athletic budget. They'll never admit this, but it's the truth. And not just at LSU.

It's simply business now and not about fans. Sucks to be a hungry fan.

So will LSU/Aramark still use the area clubs and groups to staff the concession stands. This has been a substantial income to these groups. The arrangement was/is that the group supplies the labor and splits the profit with LSU. LSU supplies all food and supplies (thats why stuff is the same at every booth). They have to account for every cup, burger, Hot dog, etc and pay LSU for it kinda like wholesale.
that would be really shitty if they did that. But of course LSU would sell out to some mega company and screw over the little guy

Using fundraising groups is a common practice. Virtually impossible to hire 1000+ individual workers. Much easier to deal 50 or so groups.

I doubt that will change.

TS concession stands are staffed by local fundraising groups.

Some are, I was an actual employee for compass group. Most of the time you are given a booth with a bunch of temp workers that were only concerned about stealing. One time, more than half my people didn't even speak English, but good thing I actually was minoring in Spanish at LSU at the time.

This has Alleva's hands all over it. Looks like another knife in the heart of LSU fans to make their experience less enjoyable.
That seems to be the current LSU way of doing things.......and it will continue until LSU Alums/Fans get off their butts and complain about the things they don't like with extreme prejudice to the people in the LSUAD that can do something.

Complain-A-Whining on here does nothing........

Did the administration even do any research into this? It's widely known Aramark was juts fired by the Titans for horrific food/service, and that's far from the first professional sports franchise who had those issues with them.

No way they can hire enough people to run every sporting event on campus. Every restaurant and retail place in baton rouge is hiring. They will continue ue to use groups and temp workers and have a few full time employees. The only other option would be to bring people in from out of town, but you aren't doing that for the sports at the pmac.

It won't matter because the new offense will keep everyone in their seats.

This is something I always thought they should do more of. Lease out a few stands throughout the stadium for vendors/restaurants to use. But LSU gets a smaller cut from vendors, so that's a no go.

Giving up a few dollars for a better fan experience clearly isn't happening anytime soon.

Why the hell do they need a national company to handle this? Some local outfit couldn't take this on? It's hamburgers, cokes, nachos and fries.
