Zona, ASU, and UCLA were being highly touted by the media. What has USC done to earn any respect? Hawaii got beat by 50 points to Nevada!! Syracuse is no good and Cal lost to an FCS team. Oh I know the PAC 12 was getting respect because they beat some big 10 teams...I am not even going to discuss how weak they are even herbie was making jokes about them

Nevada is actually a good team. Way to spin shite. fricking Auburn has sucked dick up to this point.

In the end it won't matter. LSU controls their destiny.

Mich St. Is NO cream puff. They most likely win the Big Ten. I know the Big Ten is down but still.... ND WILL lose at least three games. Its In their DNA to lose a couple that they should win.

Yet you just gave Arizona credit for beating Ok st who lost almost all their offense and has never had a defense.

Arizona beat N. Arizona, ULL, UCLA, and ASU last year.

their D is based off turnovers, and it's not like they're a shite team this year. they're just not top 5

No way clemson scores 37 on our defense.

And I disagree about other teams looking better. I.e. - Oregon always scores a shitton of points against PAC 12 teams but it would be the same ole story against an upper echelon sec team.

I really don't care about the polls in late September, dont really mean much. What I love is the people that keep saying how LSU would rape Oregon, FSU, FLA, etc, etc. Obviously they didn't watch the same game we did last night when LSU only scored 1 lone TD against a bad Auburn team. While ULM scored how many points? Oh and of course BAMA. A good defense can only stay on the field for so long playing at that high intensity and get you so far. Offense has to produce and there is no way LSU's can stand toe to toe point wise with these other teams offenses.

That Oregon team you played was a shadow of itself. The defense is light years ahead of where it was last year.

So voting is based on good coaching hires?

How did he do at Michigan?

and you have a QB who can run, which is important for an OPTION team

The only shocker in this poll is that Notre Dame didn't jump up to #2.

Auburn lost to 3 ranked teams.

and 26 on Auburn this year without their best player

So if we played on a neural field last night, with no crowd noise to AUs advantage, you think the score is still 12-10?

Rightly so. I think we should have dropped more spots. We looked like shite. Auburn out played us.

No kidding. LSU is fortunate that it was only Oregon that jumped us. I was really prepared to see us fall behind UGA and SoCarolina and FSU this week.

I probably follow K-State more than any other team, with the exception of LSU. Primarily because I'm forced to (married into a K-State family and I live about 15 miles from campus). OU, as they are every year, was extremely overrated. North Texas gave K-State a game. The score at halftime against Missouri State was 9-6. KSU has a decent defense (with a couple of exceptional future NFL stars), a one demensional offense, and a great return game. They're not #2.

Why should we be fortunate, what difference does being ranked 1st or 10th make if you're undefeated? fricking idiots

I would speculate LSU's defense would eat the ducks lunch and the LSU offense would run all over their smaller defense.

Not sure this LSU team is up to last year's LSU team on a whole bunch of levels. Oregon executes; this year's LSU still sputters on offense way too much to suit me. And there are those defensive lapses that crop up from time to time. Auburn is SEC. And the LSU/Auburn series has a life of its own beyond the current records of both teams - in that it is always a bloody game. But all that being said, LSU just plain struggled against a team that they should have breezed by (if our press clippings are true)... not sure we're the real deal yet.

Get past UF in the Swamp with a W and I'll revisit that lowered expectation...

this reminds me of a few years ago when Washington brought it and the rant crowned them a 9-win team

Sounds like the hyperbole of a "great" Oregon State in 2004 when LSU needed a miracle to survive - then the comedown a week later when the Beavers were promptly destroyed by Boise State.

Unquestionably. Really they deserve the 1st ranking. Let's not forget that they absolutely clobbered Miami.
