I'm thinking Cregg was brought in to improve our pass protection. I'm thinking he was left with a bunch of road graders. I'm thinking that we need to give Cregg a chance.

Don't tell me about the labor pains, just show me the baby.

We were told this coach with his Super Bowl ring will deliver results. We're looking forward to seeing what he can offer LSU, and we expect to start seeing it in a few short weeks.

I do. The line certainly didn't "Suck".

See "Catastrophe Syndrome". We know they got better and finished 6-2 in the SEC (including slightly edging out Alabama in yards offensively), but they believe it was 2-6. That was improvement, but somehow now they simply can't improve and will fall off a cliff.

Actually our D is a very good barometer. We are trying to beat the good teams.

Go rewatch the troy game, we could not contain their pass rush at all. It was sad. Syracuse was even worse.

Yup.

Not sure the line will suck, but it is disappointing. Hope they get Ingram back, but it sure doesn’t sound like it atm.

Look you can talk about Catastrophe Syndrome all you want. I just don't want to hear 100 excuses when the season starts in a few short weeks.

Melting already from some people. Fact is the Oline is going to struggle in games like that against elite teams. LSU has an elite DLine.

Just like Bama, Auburn, and ND had issues with our Dline last year when they got healthy.

Tiger Voodoo- “I’m not saying ________ will be bad, but I’ll go forth in ripping anyone who thinks they will be good.

You frickin cuck fraud. Grow some nuts

so saying a dude hasn't done shite so I will have to see if O is right about him or not is being a cuck fraud?

I said my peace, it was a comfort hire,a BBQ buddy of you will. The people that act like it was some huge pull are idiots.

Does that mean he won't do a good job?? Nah, O will get massive credit if he improves the line. I'm not going to label him a failure until I see it..

sorry if that gets your twat all sandy.

As for growing nuts, I've already got a ban bet with Cliff if we do better than 9-3. I think we have the talent to and should go 10-2 but have made it clear i think O fricks it up.

If he hits 10-2 I'm wrong and will ban from the Rant till next season.

It's you O pussies that won't put a prediction down but keep talking about the rebuild and next year.

What do you say big Earl, got a prediction you'll ban on or you gonna keep riding the fence like a cuck fraud bitch?

I hope you're right, but I'd feel much better if Deculus was clearly ahead of Magee right now. Magee is a guard for an elite college team.

No, you are a fraud cause you’re a fence rider. Say your piece, you don’t have to start every one of your thoughts with “I’m not saying he’s gonna be bad, but...”. And then shite all over him.

What kind of coach do you think college OL jobs attract? It’s a stepping stone job. Guy has NFL experience, no matter how you want to downplay it, that is a good thing.

As far as predictions I’ve made them all offseason. I don’t ever ride the fence. My points are clear & concise. I don’t feel the need to ban bet over wins.

I agree, we should see improvement in short order. Just making the point that it's the first scrimmage, and now Cregg has a chance to observe guys in the heat of battle and he can help each individually and as a unit to improve.

Anyone who thinks our O-line was good last year needs to rewatch Syracuse and Troy get penetration on virtually every pass.

shite Syracuse even got a safety on us. Syracuse....
Chattagooga did pretty good with some inventive blitzing also.

Noting that was Saddiq's last game at OG, he moved to OT after that with Ingram getting most of the OG snaps. Things did improve after that.

HOWEVER...
A) that was with Clapp at C, that makes a big difference to the OGs, especially the Fr Ingram.

B) Charles was not "Championship caliber" at OT, then or in the ND game. The potential is there. It's an assumption he's there now. I'd say it is a good assumption, but it hasn't been proven yet. But last year he was so-so at OG, pretty good at OT. But pretty good isn't good enough.

What is ironic is that Clapps worst game blocking grade wise was Alabama. Charles' best game was Alabama.

And therein lies the lesson... one guy on an OL that has a bad day, or isn't up to snuff overall, will affect them all. It's the old cliche about links and chains. You can average blocking grades, recruiting stars, or compile YPC stats all you want. It doesn't matter when a good DC has identified a OG that is susceptible to a swim move because he has bad balance coming out of his stance and your QB always has hands in his passing lane or any other weakness. The good coaches exploit any weak link until you fix it. They don't stop out of the goodness of their heart.

Actually, it’s their linebackers. They have one end that’s big time, but the rest of the line is average.

People talking about them going against our dline need to understand that the dline is the strength of many SEC west teams. Some rankings even have ours ranked 4th or 5th in the conference.. just for perspective.. not saying I agree with it, but point remains there are other tough Dlines on the schedule.

It sure would be nice to have a highly efficient offense to compliment the defense. Hopefully we get there. It’s just one scrimmage, but according to reports in the know., the offensive line needs some serious work.
