OSU has been lucky to get in the last two years. They got housed last year in the playoffs and embarrassed the committee, which apparently should have put PN St in. Always going to be controversy. If OSU wanted in, don't lose by 31 to anyone, particularly Iowa.

You have Bama with 1-loss to Auburn at Auburn with a spit and band-aided together defense.

OR you could have a two-loss USC that lost to cranky-arse Leach and WASU, and got absolutely throttled by a mediocre Notre Dame team.

OR you could have a two-loss OSU that lost to #2 team at home...not so bad... but then had f***ing 55 POINTS dropped on them by, wait for it... IOWA

Or why not keep Wisconsin in? Quality wins and conference championships apparently don't matter, so give #4 to the Badgers.

Bingo. NCAA has sent a message. Hey guys. Lose ur last game of season and ur in the playoffs regardless of what you did in division or conference titles games. Hell you don’t even need to be in one. Therefore they need to be eradicated. Teams should just refuse to play on them anymore until this shite is fixed.

That’s weird because Wisconsin was ranked below 1 loss teams all year long despite being undefeated because of their resume. Try again.

Bama's signature wins are a narrow escape from Miss St and LSU.

One was narrow, the other really wasn't close

At what point do number of losses determine who is the better team over head to head in a game JUST played last week. Auburn lost two games very early in the season and were playing their best football of the season going on a 5 game win streak

there were 3 teams for one spot, Bama deserved it based on one-loss, a decent SOS/SOR, and the fact that the other two really didn't make a case for themselves getting their shite pushed in by average teams.
...... Auburn would be in the playoffs if not having to play the conference championship game, ( an extra game) yesterday losing to Georgia giving them 2 losses while Bama stayed home resting...

It’s AP POLL circa 1980s all over again. Except the pollsters just choose 4 teams to playoff instead of crowning one team without a playoff or title game. It’s a sham. The old bcs was better just because of the computer element along with sos, quality wins etc. Expand to 8. All P5 champs get in or shite can the current conference championship games. Why’re useless now.

Even the poll system was better. So what if it produced split titles in some years?

Orange gets Oklahoma automatically and invites Clemson.

Sugar would be Georgia vs. Wisconsin.

Rose would be Ohio State vs. Southern Cal.

Fiesta could be Bama vs. Miami

No SWC anymore, so the Cotton could be Penn State and Auburn.

(This is based on the Big Eight getting the Orange and the ACC not having a tie-in. If you do the Big XII switch the Fiesta and Orange.)

Since that didn’t happen it came down to Bama or OSU. Bama’s loss was on the road to a top 10 team. Osu lost at home to a top 10 team and got blown out on the road by an unranked team

That’s where you’re wrong.
Before that game Wisconsin was #4. They lose to #7. They did beat a ranked team in Michigan, much better than LSU. So IF ANY TEAM GETS IN ITS WISCONSIN.
They also beat Northwestern who was #20 and stomped Iowa who beat iOSU.
This is BULL shite AT IT’S ALL about money!!!

Bama did.

They claim they blew us out by winning by 14 this year (even though we had more offensive yardage) but then claim Auburn barely beat them (Auburn won by 12).

Maybe they took advantage of a battered defense on their home field. You can't get into the playoff with 3 losses, your point is moot. Plus they lost a 20 point lead to us for God's sake.

That's fine to say but if not for pointless conference championship games, they would be in it and rightfully so as a two loss team.

An extra pointless game they shouldn't have had to play.

Osu had better wins but also got blown out by a 7-5 Iowa team. Top 4 teams don’t get blown out. In my perfect world Wisconsin wins last night and both Bama and OSU stay home. Since that didn’t happen it came down to Bama or OSU. Bama’s loss was on the road to a top 10 team. Osu lost at home to a top 10 team and got blown out on the road by an unranked team. Osu has the better win resume but they also had the worst loss on their resume.

Someone actually gets it.. Thank you for your common sense.

ESPN is paying a ton of money to televise the games. They need viewers. They think a rematch between Clemson and OSU would not be as good as Clemson vs Bama. The better ratings would be OU vs OSU in Rose ( Rose gets tradition Big 10 team) and Clemson vs UGA in Sugar ( Sugar gets SEC team). I think outside of Bama and South Carolina this matchup is not appealing. There is Bama fatigue and people are tired of seeing them. I think the ratings as a whole and ticket sales for bowl games will be not good. It sucks for UGA to go cross country when should be in Sugar. ESPN will have more layoffs after this underwhelming playoff series again.

Evidently that’s the case. I’m no tOSU fan by any means but if I were, I’d be livid.
