I've changed my mind about F King Alexander.
If you knew him, or had to work with him on a daily basis, you would know that he is a toxin to the entire LSU system.
Just ask any current or previous Chancellor just how much they like working with King. He's a duplicitous, backstabbing weasel.
There are quite a few brilliant people, including some former Chancellors, that have left LSU due to King's methods and incompetence.

He helped set the football program back 3-5 (if we're being nice) years. That is grounds for termination. He is replaceable and so is that twat alleva.

In his and the governors ploy to get more money out of the state they ran an awful disinformation campaign predicated on LSU going bankrupt and potentially having to shutter programs.
What a crock of shite.
I WANT the president of Louisiana State University to go hard after every dollar he can get. I WANT the president of LSU to challenge the legislature after EIGHT YEARS of budget cuts. I WANT the president of LSU not to lay down or bend over for the fricking politicians who did more damage to LSU than anybody ever did.

FKA got bent when the story went he was rubbing elbows w JBE 2 yrs ago when we had the Done Deal. That is what fricked us.

LSU's alum will burn their school to the ground.
Video's punchline :
You expect us to compete with Ohio State and UCLA, when we spend less per student (factoring tuition, state money) than louisville not a flagship school... 1/3rd what Tennessee does.
I said it in another thread. LSU should raise their admissions standars to what Florida, Georgia, Austin, Alabama, UNC has (27+ ACT average) then maybe in 20 years they will have a smart alumni base. Right now their alumni thinks, head coaches grow on trees. Talent in Louisiana is plentiful and will come if LSU sucks. That flagship universities can run on budgets regional state schools and be competitive in any direction with the rest of the S.E.C.
To facilitate meaningful comparisons you have to know what your peers are doing. Right now we suck next to our peers.

truly think he’s great academically but I hate how much he mishandles and misjudges sports.
The thing I’ve found interesting about Alexander, I was speaking once with someone who was at Long Beach State at the same time. He couldn’t rave enough about how important Alexander was to improvements made in the athletic department at the time.

What is King's end game for LSU?
His end game is for himself, not LSU. LSU is merely a tool for him getting to where he wants.

The same damn end game as any president would have
Does he have good intentions? As far as I know yes
Caring for your job is expected
How about you summarize his points that created your Come to Jesus moment?
I'm not watching a 1 hour and 15 min video

Before downvoting... give a listen to his brief opening statement LINK I've been highly critical of FKA bc I think he's not a good cultural fit for the school and was turing off potential donors with his pompous attitude. That was really short sided of me. As someone who's been employed by LSU in the past and has done some minor instruction, I have a large list of complaints about what could be improved on. I figured that my observations were only apparent to me and that all leadership was full of shortsighted idiots. I found this video last night of FKA defending LSU in the state budget debate.... His performance floored me. Literally everything he listed off was something that I figured no one gave a shite about... I honestly do believe he is trying his damnedest to get LSU to be nationally competitive. He largely misplayed the Les Miles firing and I hated him for it... I now attribute that to his lack of understanding our school's culture, and I think (hope) he learned his lesson... Forget football for a moment. If you truly care about the reputation of this school... you should rethink your position on him.
LSU football keeps the athletic department in the black. He can know nothing about athletics and be smart enough to recognize what the cost of athletics is and what the risks are of mismanaging the situation. In addition, athletics is BY FAR the greatest marketing arm the university has..:both from a private and political standpoint.
A guy who hasn't recognized the problem he has in his AD is either blind or just doesn't care. It's gross negligence IMO.

Serious question- has anyone else heard about the shady shite he did years ago peddling Oxford something as Oxford University and conning people into shite. Can’t remember the specifics - just wondering if anyone else has heard about his checkered past

On the other hand, there is the F. King Alexander who operates what critics describe as a “vanity” conference operation that capitalizes on the Oxford University name without the benefit of its being officially affiliated with the English school.
