He approved a contract that guaranteed $12 million to a barely literate, inchoherent, defensive line coach with a max earnings history of $600,000 per year. He's either incompetent or negligent.

Your problem was that you don't understand how boys play at this level. And F King doesn't understand how to play on a Louisiana playing field
Factor this in and you might revert back to your original conclusion:
1) King came here as a stepping stone. His grad rates at UC were lower than LSUs. He in no way was positioned to improve LSU, he just wanted to improve his resume
2) While here budget woes were ripping apart his resume enhancement, so he planned a quick exit strategy on the back of a Hillary win. The Miles debacle was just a "let the next guy deal with this" stall tactic
3) Miles kept losing, and then Trump happened
4) Suddenly he found himself neck deep in this shite. So what is he attempting? To play Jindal's hand; fill in the gaps with more money until he can move on to a better gig.
It didn't work for Jindal, and it wont work for King. He knows down deep that he has screwed this pooch, both athletically and academically. He's just here until he gets fired, or can miraculously get more money to build his resume and leave for a Big 10 or Ivy school
I have no intention of watching the athletic dept burn, OR pay higher taxes to a system that is moving nationwide toward online learning. Just so that he can self promote
And for the record, I have multiple LSU degrees, and 4 of 5 in my family have LSU degrees also.

I found this video last night of FKA defending LSU in the state budget debate.... His performance floored me.
Oh Please!!!! He talks about efficiences, but doesn't tell you the "President's " role and "chancellor" roles were combined by the board! That was done BEFORE he got there. There was increased efficiency by design! He talks about all the cuts from the state, but PLEASE LOOK AT LSU Baton Rouge BUDGET EACH YEAR!!! LSU Baton Rouge increases "fees" each year to make up for hit. This means total budget for Baton Rouge campus has actually INCREASED during budget cuts! DON't BE FOOLED!
Yes, as "President" of LSU System, he ignores the medical centers in New Orleans and Shreveport, the ag center on campus, and the Pennington Research Center in Baton Rouge. Their budgets have been cut and their faculties reduced....they are the ones in trouble ! He does not care about them
So, he is protecting the Baton Rouge campus, which has a higher budget, has an academic rank sinking, and destroying the top rated medical centers in the state, a fine Ag Center and one of the most respected obesity centers in teh country. ALL PART OF LSU, but he doesn't care about anything outside of the BR campus...which is tanking!

Most people on here don't care about academics, didn't attend LSU, or both.

Anyone with an LSU degree SHOULD care about Academics. The university's reputation affects the value of your degree many many years later.

While I don't think Alexander is a great fit for LSU, I think he does have the best interest of the University at heart. I believe he has contributed to the mistakes made by LSU, and may not realize or have the fortitude to do what appears necessary to right the ship at this point. Like it or not, powerhouse football is extremely important to the academic success of a university like LSU. It attracts enrollment and contributes significantly to the financial side of the school. If you don't realize this, you should compare the before and after stats of schools like Alabama and TCU pre-recent football dominance.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure King Alexander knows that the only option now is to put on his big boy pants and nip this exploding disaster in the making in the bud immediately. Alleva should be fired and a new AD should be brought in before the end of the football season, followed by O being terminated after we go 3-9 or 4-8 ( and we WILL GO 3-9 or 4-8).
