Worst part of the rankings is LSU has to depend on other teams losing to move up. Beating Arky and A&M will impress no one

What pissed me off is that somehow , one of the elitists.......Condolezza Rice is somehow one of the people who determine who goes to the playoffs.

Why is politics mixed up in college football?
What is SHE doing there?

You guys are over reacting..but it's not very surprising with this fanbase. Dude, THIS SYTEM claims a 5-2 team (worst record), with its only losses to #7 and #9, and best win vs #20 (worst SOS) is better than a 7-2 team ( better record), with only losses to their #1 and #3, and best win vs their #4 (better SOS). I like for you or anyone on this bs committee to explain to me and everyone else why a better record vs a tougher SOS is ranked lower than a worst record vs weaker SOS. I give my reasons.... Bias, cheaters, liars, stupid men with no integrity. Now your turn to defend this bs logic.....

That's all I'm worried about for the future......WTF is the criteria?

I don't agree with Ole Miss being in the top 4

but I think they will beat Auburn this weekend because they play at home and will play desperate revenge football.

It's interesting, when LSU is #1 or #2 and lose, we drop like 5 or 6 spots

Ole Miss didn't even drop after getting manhandled by LSU the other night

the score was close, but the details of the game suggest LSU was much better IMHO.

I think Bama is a great team but 6 is about right.

we should be ahead of OU...

All of this gets worked out in the next 4 games

So no use getting ticked off now

No, LSU got their arse's handed to them. LSU should be the highest ranked 2 loss team. There is/would be nothing wrong with that.

I can't believe that Harris' start is being used as an excuse for our record. Not like the other guy was injured. You are what your record says you are.

Say what you want about Obama. At least you can make a case for him being on the basketball selection committee or even Bush being on the baseball selection committee. Her opinion I guess is just to see whose alumni makes the largest political donation.

How does this make sense? MSU could have named the score until we put Harris in

Three weeks ago it was an LSU Fire sale. Now after stringing some wins together everyone wants them to be ranked higher. Being in the top 25 with two losses is fine by me. Win out move up. Let the other fish sort themselves out. there is the potential here for a 10 win season. That's awesome! Find the things that matter...embrace them.

Maybe the committee considered Ole Miss #1 going in. We don't know what they thought before the LSU game. Maybe they moved us up 20 spots and we just don't realize it.

So...if I'm reading you right...you're suggesting that the committee potentially considered Ole Miss #1 and LSU #39 prior to the game Saturday night, and afterwards dropped the #1 team down to #4 after losing to the #39 ranked team on their board?

Yeah...no.

I actually don't give two shits about this season...LSU was essentially out of it early. What I do care about is the integrity of the college game, and the very real worry of it turning into something that does not remotely look like all of us fans have come to love.

Think back to 2011. Prior to the LSU-BAMA game in T-Town, we were told that it was a defacto playoff game...that the winner would move on. We were told this all the while hearing pundits bitch and moan about the lack of a playoff and teams simply winning eye ball tests and how that just could not do any more.

Then BAMA lost, and suddenly we didn't need a playoff so much as we needed to use the eyeball test.

When there are no set in stone criteria, there is no system...period. While I would NEVER EVER want the college game to have a playoff system like the NFL (I have tons of reasons but they don't matter here) there is no selection committee. No way to rig the system. No loyalties tested. No conference arse kissing. Winning and math...that's it. You'll NEVER have anything as clean as that so long as you allow some select committe to dream up a poll based on...well, who the hell knows what.

But with the system we have now, it's even MORE set up to pick and choose random teams based on who the frick knows what. Our game...the college football game we've all loved...is now at the mercy of ESPN whose only goal is selling ad space in the playoff they create. At least the BCS, when it was still largely relying on the computers to at least ATTEMPT to quantify which teams had had the best seasons, was set up to make an effort to take human bias out of it. It wasn't perfect, but it had the right intention.

All joking aside...I really do fear for the game I've come to love.

Bama troll. Please list the correct team you're a fan of.

There is a LOT of football left to play but LSU getting in the play-off is obviously a borderline delusional hope - but not impossible.

However, I think that LSU got very little credit for beating Ole Piss and that Ole Piss got very little penalty for suffering that loss.

Oh yeah: I'm a proud 'homer' and I think all you self-loathing nega-Tigers hiding behind your rationalized objectivism are really just a bunch of craven, caterwauling, cowards afraid to stick your necks out for fear 'losing'. How prodigal and hollow is your pursuit of that sort vindication on a damn chat board.
