Never heard of school colors rule in CFB

Just read that NO ONE will be allowed entrance to Saturdays game wearing visiting teams “ colors”
I’ve heard about it in NHL but never CFB

As someone said in another thread, separating people by color is a long standing tradition in Oxford.

No one will be allowed into the Ole Miss student section wearing the opposing teams colors. That is not the same thing and although petty is probably pretty fair seeing as how butt hurt Ole Miss is.

No one will be allowed in the student section wearing LSU gear. It is a public safety issue, which I am sure would not stand up in court, but I don't think anyone cares enough to make an issue of it.
I doubt a public institution can mandate what color shirt you wear to their sporting event.
tbh it is a dick move to go cheer for the away team in the student section.

This is EXACTLY why Lane had a hard time recruiting to Oxford.

They do this in European club soccer all the time. No away colors in any section but the visiting section for safety reasons.

It's only in the student section. Considering all the emotion focused on this game, I don't think it's necessarily a bad move by Ole Piss. It'll most certainly prevent a lot of fights breaking out in the student section where youth and alcohol will be fueling the excitement. This one action is more than likely helping keep a lot of people from visiting the pokey and having to bond out over a completely avoidable round of fisticuffs brought on by the bravery of intoxication. (It's a lot easier to remove the mixture Purple and Gold with Red and Blue from the equation than to remove the mixture of emotions and alcohol.)

LSU fans can't cry about "we need extra security to keep us safe" and then complain when Ole Miss admin does something proactively to prevent possible scenarios for confrontation.
I don't have a problem with it. No one is saying you can't wear LSU colors in the stadium.

Yeah only issue I could see if ole mis students attending after second BA or masters that are lsu fans from lsu

Ole Miss has a ton of out of state students. I think their student body is pushing 60% out of state now.
The likely scenario is someone's friend coming into town for the game being an LSU student.
