That game helped get Dinardo fired and Saban hired. Glad it happened

That was going on right in front of me.
I was also there for the revenge game two years later when our tuba player knocked the crap out of Auburn's field goal kicker and the whole stadium was smoking cigars at the end. I went home smelling like cigar smoke.

I took home some end zone grass.

2001 redemption game was an all timer

I caught Tubberville going into the team van as he waited on the team to leave locker room. I stood directly in front of the van and puffed away on my cigar as Tubberville tried to pretend he didn’t see me. Finally he acknowledged me with an “OK you got me” finger point.
I took a few more puffs still looking straight at him and then walked away feeling sweet redemption.
The next week I had to drive through Alabama to Atlanta. I picked up a sports show on the radio and Auburn callers were discussing how traumatized they were by the experience in Tiger Stadium.
Extremely satisfying.

And lost in 2021. Breaking a streak that went back to 1998.

Bc of Bo Nix. Why are you arguing that point?

That had less to do with Nix than the complete disaster O done post 2019.

Nix had an average game at best. A poorly coached team lost a game they should have won. They gave up 14 points in the 4th quarter. Why don't you want to place blame where it belongs?

Disgusting. I hate Auburn. What makes this really bad is they weren't a good team and still beat LSU silly

Bc I simply don’t believe we lost that game bc of coaching. The rest of the season was a dumpster fire, but that game i specifically remember us not being able to get Bo Nix down. We made him look like Johnny Manziel out there.

You can disagree if you want

really just giving you grief. Nix did damage with his legs in that game. I do think the team as a whole was a mess due to lax coaching that season and I think the second half sort of showed that.

If I’m not mistaken, that was Rohan’s first start. DiNardo really threw him under the bus with that start imo. This game also started 8 consecutive losses until DiNardo was fired and Rohan got his revenge against Arkansas last game of the season.

yup. i was there

I forgave Tubberville because he’s a great patriot from the Deep South and is working as hard as he can as a Congressman in that disgusting, despicable Washington D.C.

The Curse of the Cigar

LINK

Awesome article about the history of the two games from the Montgomery Advertiser.

The billboard that said, "Smoke this, Tubs," is the best part.
