Another TN native here who agrees. The local sports guys here are awful when it comes to college FB.

Hell...I recall thinking he was a Cajun Trojan Horse sent in to destroy Ole Miss' program even further. He was an absolute joke of a hire then, and we laughed heartily at them for hiring them, and at his antics while there.
I knew enough about his tactics to want him no where near an LSU sideline, and Miles hiring him is a Top 10 thing that he did here that I disagreed with.
But now...we act like he's always been some awesome coach. The turn around, with exactly dick all actual experience of running his own program in a different way than he ran it at Ole Miss before getting this gig, has been mind boggling to watch.

Well tbf that’s honestly like 73% of the reason he got the job.
If that’s true that makes me hate joe alleva even more lol

Expecting him to fail and hoping he fails are not the same thing.
But it's a nice looking straw man though. How often have those of us that have been critical of Orgeron had to counter this nonsense? Several hundred times...at least? how many times, over and over, have we had to counter it to the same posters even...who repeated it over and over again?
It's a debate tactic...nothing more. No one actually believes that thinking LSU will ultimately fail under Orgeron is the same thing as hoping they do.

I just think the man gets a crap deal bc he failed at ole piss 10 or 15 yrs ago.
Why hadn’t he been offered any FBS, or even FCS, jobs since then?

Why else, do you think, our very own DL coach was given the reigns to a Top 5-10 program with no successful head coaching experience of his own program under his belt if not for the magical "good fit" which amounted to nothing more than being from here?

You want everybody to forget about Ole Miss, get over Troy, and "give him time", yet you bring up Les' second game as LSU head coach to bolster your argument?
It's astounding that it's nearly been two years and there are still threads started like this by posters who "don't get it".

Forgetting what the team and area were going through at the time, and also forgetting that was the only fricking loss in the regular season that year with ZERO bye weeks until it got derailed by UGA in Atlanta. Finishing off the season by curb stomping Miami in the bowl, btw.
So instead of looking back at the 2005 season as a damn miracle given everything we went trough that summer, we still have guys bash Miles for a loss when Fats Domino was literally sleeping on our starting QB's couch leading up to the game instead of the 11 straight wins rattled off. Or better yet, suggesting this is one of the seasons where Miles squandered a championship...

this needs to be memorialized, and read aloud by either Morgan Freeman or Charles Dance.

And he was fired for it, tard. Yet you’re here lauding a man who has not bettered the program, who is not even half the coach of Miles, and who has no credential
Now now, no need for name calling! Can’t you get banned for stuff like that?
I agree I don’t think O is to miles level, but miles stepped into a machine at every position, O has had to fix several position, and two of those being the the most important on a football team dline and qb, I just hope he was able to fix them, bc on paper, he has.

Don’t get your hopes up too high. The threads will keep on coming regardless of what happens on the field unfortunately. Some people, regardless of what “side” they are on will find a way to continue their narrative no matter what happens with this or any other game from here on out. The haters will be negative unless LSU wins every single game and call for O’s head every week even if we win. They’ll say any coach could have and should have won. If LSU looses, they’ll say it’s proof that with another coach the game would have been different. I don’t think they realize that by saying O is a joke and helping spread that thought that they are indirectly putting down every player that has chosen to play for him.

Why don’t you just come clean and admit you wish O should be fired today......

Alters and fake accounts are also supposed to be a no-no...so since that seems to be ok around here at this point, I'm thinking he's safe.

Still not the same as hoping LSU loses.
No matter how mich you want it to be.
Also, if we fired O today, how much do you think that would effect our record?

I'll upvote, since I'm also a Louisiana native who lives in Tennessee.
A word of advice though. Don't listen to local sports talk radio. And if you do happen to listen to local sports talk radio, try not to care what those morons have to say about anything.
I'm in Nashville, local sports radio is garbage. Predators is the only semi-interesting thing to listen to. I have tried to listen to them about the Titans, but the delusions of what that team is are pretty wild here. I don't hear much college talk, which tells me they don't really pay attention to that. I wouldn't either if my team was Vandy or just went 0-8.
But...doesn't mean they are wrong about O. I haven't heard them talk about him. Why did LSU hire him and fire Miles is a legitimate question that only "the search" can answer, and his answer sucks.

I'm sure you guys are talking through all this with your respective therapist, but Les is gone and never coming back.
Gone, a sad footnote of a man that the game passed by at the speed of light while he chewed grass.

Complete and total bullshite...but a wonderful debate tactic, if you don't mind being a liar.
As soon as Orgeron actually starts winning, he'll get the respect he so obviously craves. if he does not, and his supporters continue to attempt to move goal posts in an effort to square the circle of his accomplishments, then he will not and he will be called out.
Oh...I'll still dislike the man, but I'll happily point out I was wrong about him as a coach if he proves me wrong. Respect is earned...and he has yet to earn it.
But stop suggesting that he can't earn it simply because he has yet to be given what he has not earned.

And, as I said, he was fired for it. How does equating Orgeron to what got Miles fired an endoresment of Coach O?
Really? It’s not that difficult to see, Miles was doing this crap in the last yr of a 10+ yr career. He was never going to learn or become better. This is O’s second full yr, why does he not deserve some time?
I agree if he only wins 6 or 7 games, he is lucky to get one more yr, and I’ll agree with that decision as long as Alleva’s arse is out the door with him!
