That is not the reason he catches shite here and from people nationally. Its his track record and performance as head coach of a major program.

that also, but if he talked with a smooth voice and had a mid west accent and didn't look as rough as he looks, they would cut him a lot more slack especially after his stint at USC. Plus they figure WTF, why not poke at him and make out like he is some sort of idiot buffoon when they see that LSU's own fan base does that as well.

edit : the track record and performance at that major program of Ole Miss 10 years ago . That major program? Give me a break. WOW

We play 13 games not. 10 wins is easy with an easy OOC schedule and a bowl game.

10/20 Mississippi St.

10 wins is easy with this schedule? It's one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

Really Les Miles was never made fun of??

Dude had an incredible run, was made fun of daily. However he did bring a lot of that on himself. Eating grass, running to the wrong sidelines, etc man you have a short memory

This is what makes absolutely no sense and its nothing short of just mind blowing.

Les Miles started his LSU coaching career winning 11 games (10 reg season) in his first 2 seasons here. This was the first time LSU ever finished with back-to-back 10 win seasons. During his first 2 seasons LSU played 12 nationally ranked Top 15 teams and 6 of those were ranked in the Top 8 when the games were played. Miles finished his 3rd season at LSU winning 12 games with a 34-6 record and a BCS NC win against Ohio State.

Still, Miles was constantly bashed and negativity surrounded him even during his red hot start at LSU. He talked, walked, ran, ate, blinked, clapped and wore his hat funny. He won games with luck, talent alone, ugly and by not enough points. The media, analysts and even our own fans were tough on Miles while he was winning at a high level.

For years it didn't upset most people here when Miles received constant personal negative criticism even while he played for championships.

Orgeron's abysmal 3 years in Oxford and his uninspiring start here at LSU has rational fans skeptical that he'll be successful. Yet, there's many here who still defend him and get upset when he's rightfully criticized. The excuses made for his shortcomings as head coach is astounding.

It just rubs people the wrong way that we got rid of Les Miles for a guy that Syracuse passed on.

After F King screwed the pooch on with the possible Jimbo hire in 2015, and Herman left us at the Altar, who would you have chosen?

Fedora? A sleaze and his 2017 season was awful.
Fleck? Yeah, he's working miracles at Minnesota.
Frost? He wasn't yet a star.
Fuentes? Same results as Orgeron thus far and he wasn't interested.

Folks weren't beating down the door to come here. I fault Alleva for not having a secondary plan but I understood his decision to go with Orgeron.

To be fair they lost a very close game to LSU that would have sent Ole Miss to ATL instead of us that year. Their only sec loss that season was to LSU.

With your average Miles team, you'd expect about 10 wins vs.

Miami would be considered a W, UGA and @ Auburn would be tossups that you should get 1 of, and the hope would be to finally get Bama W again.
Any loss outside of those, people would be beyond outraged.

And I bet you thought Les was going to finally open up the offense.

And I bet you think we have less kickers on the team or on scholarship now.

BTW, isn't ironic that a guy, probably one of many alters, is on this site complaining about the treatment of a coach who has yet to prove himself while talking shite about a coach who had the highest winning percentage at LSU and has a natty and played for another.

Coach prior to O previous 3 seasons 21-16 worst season 4-7. 2 of those with Manning as QB 4-7 was not.

O three seasons 10-25 best season 4-8

Coach subsequent to O previous 3 seasons 22-16 worst season 4-8.

Miles set us back with recruiting (Offensive line

We had the top offensive line in the country the year before he was fired.

He also signed three top 300 OL that year including the #2 OG in the country and the #6 and #7 OT in the country.

He won 6 SEC games with a 3 home 5 road schedule. Something Miles did not do for 5 or six years. That is a fact. What actual facts do you have other than Ole Miss stuff from 10years ago

Honestly, O doesn't have the pedigree that most coaches have, doesn't have the wins or championships on his resume. He's great recruiter, good motivator, the players love him, which are all the markings of a great assistant coach. You can tell in his interviews and pressers, that he has a bunch of canned answers, repeats the same phrases over and over again instead of giving a more thought out genuine response.

Now, with that being said, most of the national media do not do their homework. They repeat and echo things that other media members say, or worse, what's being said on twitter. Anybody could be a reporter these days if all you need to do is retweet what some athlete said to be newsworthy. Go read through some of these news articles now, they're all pretty much the same. I don't like the way the national media is discounting this team so readily this year. They dog on O & E based on their past resume, which is understandable, but the talent is there. I think they put way too much stock in how O sounds when he talks, and I hope the product on the field shuts everyone up this year. I think we have one of the most talented teams in the league this year. All you have to do is win, and the noise turns to praise. We'll have an all you can eat crow buffet at the SEC Championship for the media this year. Geaux Tigers!
