Harris was named the starter and took the first snap of the season, regardless of whether the game counted or not. You win, no asterisk required.

just because a weather event cancelled the game doesn't change what physically happened.

The game didn't count. Technically the season opens Saturday in Starkvegas.
There hasn't been an official snap yet.
That said there should not be "fine print" in bets between friends.
Harris is clearly named starter by Miles. Your buddy should pay up. He knows Harris is the starter.

Ok first off, I am the coworker who made the bet with bayoubengal225. The bet is that if Jennings takes the first official snap of the season he must forfeit his season tickets for the rest of the season. The kicker is, if Harris wins him the bet by taking the first snap of the season he in turn wins........NOTHING!!!! I am in a no lose situation so why would I not take this opportunity to rib my fellow coworker for another week. I say the bet is still on and carries over another week...

There is one play that made your friend lose: BH taking the first snap. Doesn't matter if he came out of the game after the 1st snap.

The bet had to do with starting, not finishing or completing. He knows damn well what he signed up for and that he lost. Your only responses to him from here on out should be telling him what a bitch he is. Every time, at every opportunity.

Your bet wasn't specific enough for him to claim that it wasn't, i.e. there were no stipulations on the duration of the game or how long he played.
Had he been sitting next to you as the game played out, he should have paid up immediately on the spot, regardless of what happened from there on out.
Tell him to pay up or make it known that he reneges on bets and is not to be trusted; never bet with him again.

Let me put it this way...I had the under in the ULM UG game. The game was over the number when it was called. The bet cancelled and there was no bet at all.
