I’m 45. I simultaneously would hate my grade school age kids exposed to it while also thinking it’s kind of awesome in big game situations able moments.

I know that’s hypocritical.

It's trashy and embarrassing.

My main problem is lack of originality. It’s grown stale.

The frat boy, hold-my-beer types always make me cringe.

Yeah, it needs to go, IMHO it is really embarrassing to LSU to even have this crap going on, There is NO age where this is appropriate. I would not subject my kids to this vulgarity.

“Hey, baby…I wanna know-o-oh if you’ll be my girl…” was once the height of put-downs when LSU was winning near the end of a game. Then some people thought it was insulting or something and it was stopped. Only to be reborn as the present highly vulgar and classless STTD chant.

I've never been a fan of the chant either, but I don't see any realistic way to get completely rid of it. The more LSU tries to discourage/prevent the band from playing Neck, the more the students are going to try to incorporate the chant into everything else.

At this point, they might as well let the band play Neck once or twice each game just to let the students get it out of their system. At least then you know when it's coming and can try your best to brace your kids for it.

Don’t go to Bama where they say “frick Auburn” a bunch of times in Dixieland delight.

Surely you understand that "frick Auburn" or the LSU student section chanting "a-hole, a-hole" to Tiger Rag (like they did in the 90s), while still crude, are an order of magnitude different from STTDB.

None of us , well most of us dont raise our kids that way but this is nothing more than a chant to a song. Calm down Francis. They have cursing all the time in pg rated movies and that didnt stop you from letting your kids watch those movies.

Tbh the song is bad arse....

It was funny at first. It's stale, worn out and way past time to retire it with something original. We need a sing along song that's more positive rather than degrading to the opponent. Be happy for the win not a pile on to the loser. We have this all backwards.

These are so many smart creative funny people in LA with personality. Let's replace this chant with something new, fresh and unique. It needs to be organic and come from the students/band. Replace the piped in music with some fresh stuff.
