playoff system
How can anyone complain about this? The bowl system has always been stupid as hell.
College football has been great so far this year, this creates more parity imo and will be better for the game in the long run.

And they got "paid" in a free college education. Maybe if we went back to that we wouldn't be watching a bunch of entitled assholes.
As long as the coaches and ADs are willing to accept YMCA Basketball coaches salaries

I would definitely say it is the end of an era but there are many upsides to more parity and a 12 team playoff.

Putting a salary cap like system may cool the collective based NIL system down a bit. NIL will still exist though. There is no getting rid of that. So simply paying a player won't solve the issues of a player getting more money at school A than school B.
Good luck with a salary cap without collective bargaining, and really good luck collectively bargaining with a consistently changing group of college kids.

I watch less college football than I used too, and it's because players are now mercenaries.
And I'm far less emotionally involved in college football. The excitement that I used to feel, beginning mid-week, is gone, and even on Saturday I'm far less excited than before. And I watch fewer games.
What used to make college football special is now gone. So yea, make fun on people saying they won't watch anymore -- but that's a real thing.

Some found out what their value was worth, but the NCAA wouldn’t let them reap the rewards, but their members did.

I have a friend who went to La Tech when Bradshaw did, he told me the only way Terry could have found his classes is if someone took him by the hand and showed him where each was located. SO I guess the answer to your question was about 50 to 60 years ago

I don’t see how this works without an LOI. They have to replace ‘signing’ with something.

I primarily watch smaller FBS and FCS schools. Lower divisions if they are on.
