Fri Peterson
Sat Marceaux
Sun Walker

Or with Hess to the bullpen, does he stay the Fri night starter and we do that “Opener” thing like Sergio Romo?

If i had to go long term and assume Henry and Hill were done for the year, i wouldn't mind seeing Peterson in the weekend rotation. If i knew Henry would be coming back sooner rather than later, i would keep Hillard in the rotation.

Henry comes back...

Fri - Hillard (Throw Henry back in when he is good)
Sat - Walker
Sun - Marceaux

Henry/Hill Out For Season...

Fri - Walker
Sat - Marceaux
Sun - Peterson

I don't understand the Peterson to starter hype. He's not that dissimilar to Hess really. He's good in the pen. Let him stay there. Plus he doesn't really have the experience there. Hilliard has at least has the experience and has proven he can be successful in the staring role. He hasn't been as sharp as his freshman year, much like walker. They've both had their streaks of brilliance this year so you know that they can. It's just a question of if they will.

I don't know if the order matters too much with the inconsistency they've had but I think the best pool of starters we have right now is hilliard, Marceaux and walker. I'd throw Hess in there too but if they've committed him to the pen then I guess that removes him from the pool. On Friday I think you just have to put whomever you feel will have the best chance to keep your bullpen mostly intact even if it doesn't necessarily mean going deep into the game.

2017 Peterson maybe, but with all the pitchers that are out I would have to say that Hilliard gets the start. He pitched great last year and is starting to return to that form

After thinking about it, i am completely fine with the rotation he is throwing out there. Peterson would get rocked by ole miss, as would hess. Their fastballs are too flat. Hess coming in out of the pen in the 8th inning throwing 96, now that i could get on board with. I just want hilliard to keep us close going into the 6th inning. Being down only a run or two would be huge.

Why are you giving up on hillard. Seems a little racist. Henry and hopefully hill will be back

I’ve always liked Peterson as a starter. He got rocked a lot Freshman year, but he has the mechanics and build to go long innings with upper level stuff.

I think with his seasoning, if he’d get several outings as a starter he’d become #2 behind a healthy Henry, and #1 without Henry.

Little late for that. And walker is a #2 behind Henry. Marceaux is a number 3, Hilliard is a number 4. He hasn’t proved he’s worthy over those 3 so far this year

You’re saying that a guy who is currently 6th in line to start should be our number one guy. 7th if Hill is back

Oh so you’re gonna be the guy in this thread pulling out the race card. Newsflash not everything is about the color of ones skin.

Peterson has had plenty of seasoning starts the last three years.. he's a bullpen pitcher not a starter

No takers on Hess in an “Openers” role?

IMO for this team, this year, it might be the spark they need to get rolling.

When you say opener you mean a starter not intended to go deep into the game? I'd be fine with it in the interim. Let him go a few innings Fri then have him available in the pen Sunday.
