Hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Mississippi State.
Knows Louisiana from his time at Tulane.
Knows Texas in being from south TX.
Knows the south from his time coaching.
Can own a room from his skins on the wall as player (first round pick) and coach.
Worth a serious look.

Lack of HC experience? I think he would do a great job, but understand it’s hard to hire a guy who hasn’t done it before. JG is probably the biggest reason we’ve made it to Omaha the last two years.

Very well may be a great hc someday but I'd think a job as prestigious as LSU wants someone with hc experience

I said the same thing on 2016 about Orgeron.
I'm not willing to make that mistake again.

LSU fans sure do have a weird fetish for unqualified or under-qualified coaches with Louisiana or LSU connections

I’m just a fan, so what’do I know. But Skip had no head coaching experience either. He worked out ok.

Several prominent boosters, players and parents would be in favor of this hire but it goes against every hire Scott makes.

I know Roach. Kenny Colley is his name. You from Slidell huh?

I'd consider a HC of a small program, but not one with no HC experience. Too big of a stage to make one's debut.

Has Jeff Willis over at LSU Eunice been mentioned yet?
The guy a has a bunch of national championships and been national coach of the year numerous times at a lower level.

He would do a great job IMO, just needs a little more experience first

So Woodward goes and hires Mulkey as his women's basketball coach, but you believe that he will hire a JUCO coach to run the baseball program?

Well their was an assistant coach one time who built the best baseball program in the country at his first head coaching job.
What was his name. He held a rope or something like that.
