Jump at 43 pitches, wonder if they even bring him out for 3rd, they said 45-50 pitches for him today. Maybe he gets 1 batter

They may let him go the entire 3rd. He looks pretty settled in and doing good. Yes, I know he is on pitch count early in season but....

But he doesn't

He's just not the best defensive first baseman in school history. He's average defensively.

Just now catching up and saw that play. Jones does look bad out there sometimes. You learn to step towards the ball as a first baseman in high school and he still doesn't do it. Lester's saying he is a "good" first baseman is just not true. He's below average.

He needs to go back to taking until he sees a strike.

No, retard.

I'm comparing it to the zone the NIU pitcher got the half inning before.

I crack up every time people see themselves on the jumbotron and they wave in the wrong direction, presumably so they can see themselves, rather than facing the camera. I can't help it. It's just so funny.

Back to regularly scheduled game watching.

It isn't like Jones is the only guy that isn't as great defensively at a non-natural position. Morgan was not nearly as good in the outfield as he is at first base (and he almost killed himself on the fence). Dugas is not a great second baseman and resulted in Johnson flipping he and Thompson against left-handers. Playing a new position is tough, even for good, athletic collegiate players.

I’m not denying that learning a new position isn’t hard. I’m just saying you don’t have to say that he is a good first baseman when he isn’t.

Still waiting for Frey to do something in an LSU uniform. I just haven’t seen anything from him that excites me.
