Brennan is already here, is ahead of the curve learning the new playbook, and deserves his chance.
He had his chance to win the job this spring and couldn’t beat out 2 below average SEC QBs

Burrow is not a pro style QB. He is a dual threat.
White does not equal pro style always.
Wrong...He is a mobile pro style qb...example - Aaron Rodgers..
Dual Threat is a read one receiver and run

Was curious how many posts before an idiot somehow tried to steer this informative thread into yet another Eaux-fest.
So pointing out that one QB has been studying under Urban Meyer and the other under Ed Orgeron is bashing O?
I'm no O fan, but that particular post was not intended to bash him (not that I haven't done so in the past). Just pointing out that it's idiotic to try and compare Brennan to Burrow based on High School stats given the two's college careers and mentors.
Don't be so butt hurt all the time, Derek. It's not always a knock on your boss just because his name is mentioned.
ETA: And this thread is not informative at all. It's an attempt to spin the narrative. In this case, that Brennan is suitable compared to Burrow. You would know a few things about spinning a narrative now, wouldn't you?

We seem to be splitting hairs. He’s capable of taking off and making it hurt, from what I’ve seen. Call it whatever y’all like- he’s mobile.

Brennan has tremendous potential, he just needs time to build up his frame.

Well, some people did that to Miles when he was here......and his specialty was the oline. Like it or not the Head coach will always take the blame.

Brennan has had 1 full year being tutored by O. Which one do you think will be better come September?
Burrows might be better. But do you really think the HC, a lifelong DL specialist at that has any input in the technique training of a new QB.
I think MB got pretty good coaching from Canada and Ensminger thus far.

Grant Gunnell weighs less than Burrow or Brennan. He's thrown for over 60 TD's the past two seasons, but pessimists will say his football league is made of weak competition. He's a Pro-style passer, strong arm. Everything needed by a top QB recruit. Let him sign with LSU and the Coach O haters here will turn on him in a heartbeat. LSU could have Drew Brees at QB and he'd be hated.

Brennan played absolutely horrible competition
Im sure this was a hot topic on the recruiting board a couple years ago.

If you think ANY head coach, regardless of their specialty, doesn't have a say so in the development and tutelage of the most important position on the field, then there's no helping you.
I'm not saying O directly guides the QBs, but you can bet your arse he has some input. Also, you're missing the point of the post in the first place. Urban Meyer is about as good as it gets for a QB. A kid coming in that has spent 3 years under him is going to be far more polished than a kid that has spent 1 year in a college program.

I think the current situation with trying to bring in Burrow in the first place would point to the opposite.

quote:well, it's a hell of a lot more relevant than high school film. And the "no contact" nature of the game should make the QBs' stats BETTER, which makes what we saw even more alarming.
no shite, we all know a spring game with a no contact jersey is where it is at
And although we're all bitching about the spring game, it's actually deeper than that, since it's clear that none of our QBs had a great spring, so the sample size is actually much bigger that just the spring game.

our OL did not block for Brennan in the Spring Game and I wonder what that is about. Yet they blocked for other QB's.
Posted on 5/17/18 at 2:40 pm to LSUTIGERS2018
High school stats are not comparable for so many reasons.
Posted on 5/17/18 at 2:43 pm to LSUTIGERS2018
It’s not about high school at this point. Burrow has been practicing/playing in a major college system for 3 years, Brennan for 1 year. Think about the difference in Rohan, Jamarcus, Flynn, Mauck etc. at 3 years vs. 1 year.

You left out the fact that Brennan, tRants next coming of Jesus, is getting beat out by the perennial bench marksman McMillan.
Has peej weighed in yet?

2 questions...
Where did Burrows play?
Was Brother Martin the only decent team Brennan played?
