Your link says he is dual-threat QB out of high school.

Burrow was recruited from Athens (The Plains, OH) class of 2015. He committed to Ohio State on 5/27/2014. He was recruited by TOM HERMAN .

He is mobile, but the passing and rushing stats are very similar to Brennan's. I do look forward to having a smart, mobile QB if he comes here, though.

You are correct about that - but that is his "player profile". He is listed on 24/7 in at least three places and two of the three have his as a "dual threat".

If you go to the page you have linked and scroll down just a little - below his OSU stats and it will have a link to his "recruiting profile".

It lists him a dual on his recruiting profile and the list that another poster linked above.

My link says. Seems he's listed as both. Burrow rushed for 4 more TD's in HS. Both are mobile. So are we now recruiting Dual or Pro style passers. Gunnell is Pro Style

Burrow has had time to develop his game and his football acumen longer. That's a good thing.

I agree with all of this.

Like I said in another thread. I would like to see Burrow come in and win the job. If that happens, I would like to see Brennan redshirt to develop more. I believe he can have an above average career. I think JM could be a serviceable back up this year. After Burrow is gone, Brennan should be ready to take the helms with 2 years left. Hopefully, Gunnel will sign here and be ready in a couple of years. No reason to throw a freshman in out of necessity.

As much as I hate it for LN, I just don't think he is ready for the SEC. He is an awesome athlete. I wish he hadn't been hurt so we could have seen his true potential.

The following disagree with your assertion:

Tim Tebow
Johnny Manziel
Jameis Winston
DeAndre Francois
Jalen Hurts
Tua Tagovailoa

Burrow may run slightly better, especially better frame to hold up doing so.

Burrow also is good with avoiding interceptions.

Tebow was a package player as a freshman

And a phenom

Manziel was a RS freshman and man Kliff Kingsbury is so dang good. I wish we had him just to improve QB play.

Winston was a RS right?

Francois? What ever happened to him? Didn’t get he get hurt?

The two Alabama examples don’t count. Their offensive line is beyond blessed and their defense allows them enough opportunities to eventually be successful in games.

Any ways, I think if you are an elite enough talent you can be thrown into the fire early on.

Tim Tebow- played behind Chris Leak his freshman year. How many Tim Tebow's have there been?

Johnny Manziel- played as a red shirt freshman. Freakish athlete

DeAndre Francois and Jameis Winston- Great athletes.

Jalen hurts- Great athlete. Needed a couple of years to develop his passing game. Replaced by Tua.

Tua-(Like Brennan played in back up role freshman year) Jury still out. We will see what he can do when teams are able to game plan to his abilities.

So in 3 years, Myles only had 4 fewer rushing TDs than a "dual threat"?
And had more passing yds and tds?

Brennan isnt what everyone thought he would be and it is eating all the Brennan d*** riders alive that he doesnt look very good. I never thought Brennan was going to be the answer and until he puts another 20 pounds on his bones and better develops (Which may never happen with our coaching staff) I wont think he is the answer. The kid is a bean pole that shows lack of development.

Give me a guy that has been taught by Urban Meyer and his staff anyday

That video shows me enough, nice touch on the ball, scans the field, doesnt make bad decisions

No it is not. Burrow is very good, many OSU fans wanted him to start over Haskins who looks like a stud.

Burrow's competition in Div. III during the regular season would be spotty. In the semifinals, he played Columbus DeSales, a very good Catholic School. (Luke Fickell played there) In the finals, he played Toledo Central Catholic another very good school(where Deshone Kizer and Dane Sanzenbacker played). Lost 56-52. Threw 6 TDs and for 456 yards.

Will agree with others that HS stats don't mean that much. However, someone posed the question.

In 2003 we only lost one game. At home. To Chris Leak. Who was a freshman. Other schools prepare kids. We don’t.

Hopefully this thread has helped illustrate how fricking dumb it is to use binary classification for all QBs.

There are not just two types of QB out there despite what the croot'n services say. Tons of variance in between.

This. No need to criticize Myles if you prefer Burrow. Look at the HS stats and recruiting rankings (for what they're worth), they are very similar - Joe Burrow is basically Myles Brennan in two years.

If Burrow comes, I hope Myles sticks around - best case for him: he beats out Burrow and becomes a star, worst case: he rides the pine for two years getting bigger and better, and becomes the starter or, if beat out by some stud like Dwayne Haskins, transfers as that year's "Joe Burrow" savior for another school.
