I think Myles Brennan will be a solid quarterback in year 1 as the starter. Better than what LSU has had in the past, but not Burrow (duh). Based on the game and practice film I’ve seen of Brennan, I think it’s safe to say that he trusts that big arm a little too much at times. Your typical Brett Favre-Ryan Fitzpatrick type gunslinger. With that being said, I expect to see LSU finish top 3 in the SEC in rushing. I believe the passing attack WILL be really successful, but the three-headed group at running back will allow the team to focus on the run more than last year. This will be very evident in those road games: Florida, Auburn, and A&M, specifically. I foresee LSU being an explosive offense, but a little more methodically explosive. Still should be Top-3 in scoring offense, but just not as quick-strike. What are your expectations for LSU’s offense?

Prepare yourself for a decline from last season if you haven’t figured that out but we still have serious weapons on offense! I’m concerned the most about the offensive line compared to 2019

Well of course. Chances are we’ll never see an LSU offense like that in our lifetime and that’s ok.

We just witnessed the greatest offense of all time to expect more would be foolish. And even more we don’t need it to win it all.

A vintage LSU defense and a top 25 offense will win a whole frick ton of hardware. And we CAN do that.

We will be a more balanced team next year regarding play calling early on. Obviously this year we were pass heavy, but I believe once Brennan gets comfortable it will look very similar to this year play calling wise with great results.

We were almost perfectly balanced on offense this season. It seems we were pass heavy due to past seasons but we were something like 51/49 pass to run this year.

It’s not that we threw a lot. It’s that we were the 2nd most efficient passing offense in college football history.

BS. The offense plan will be exactly th some, except a little more refined. You may see more running but it will be for a different reason than Brennan. As Coach Orgeron has said, he expects Brennan to explode. But this will be the second time thru for the LSU passing offense.

The passing defenses will be modified to slow it down. When you move players to stop the pass defense you weaken the run defense. I guarantee you if teams play those pass defenses the same way next year Brennan will have a huge year throwing the ball. I would pick 40 TD in a 12 game regular season, otherwise maybe a few less if the opponents modify their pass D. There will probably be some big run plays but not because Brennan will not be good enough to make plays. He could be th best QB in the SEC.

The big problem I getting the OL ready. Losing spring practice hurt bad That was an experienced, mature OL with 2 three players and 3 four year players. The OL must be ready.

MYLES has had the deck stacked against him for a long time but still keeps ticking.
How many coaches and OC's?
How many other QB's?
Arrival of The Great One!
Now it`s his turn he has patiently waited for - CoronaVirus!
I hope he gets his shot and shocks the world!

Yep....just looked it up...we attempted 567 passes to 513 rushing attempts. We completed 426 of those pass attempts which is insane....we were actually 52-48 pass to run, but your point is well taken. People tend to think we were such a pass happy offense...we were just so damn efficient when we did it, some people forget we could run the ball well when needed.

Numbers wise(let's say it's 13 games this year) if Brennan throws throws for 260/game at a minimum which I think is very doable, he'd have the 2nd best single season in LSU history as far as passing yards. Brennan knows this offense and with the wr corps we have coming back, this offense is still going to put up some eye popping numbers by LSU standards. JMO

I heard the coaches are very high on this year’s team. Brennan is doing everything they’ve asked him and he’s doing it right. He has become a more vocal and confident leader. He’s in touch with receivers and other players daily and checking on their workouts.

We shall see.......

Yeah, I agree. It's very doable. And he'll have a really talented group of receivers.
I think he's gonna have to avoid the temptation to force throws, like one often sees in first-time starters. But the good news is that got a decent amount of playing time last year, and, to me, it looked like he improved. Maybe I'm imagining it, but he seemed more comfortable in his appearances at the end of the season.

Yeah. Just talked myself into it. We're gonna win it all again!

My point on Brennan was probably missed. With Myles B. at quarterback, we’ll see more throws outside of the hashes on comeback and corner routes. These routes were in last year’s offense, but Burrow worked the middle of the field to perfection. I think Myles B. is going to All-SEC. I’m just saying he’ll be a bigger risk taker outside the hashes, which I think will lead to the three running backs feasting.

I agree! IMO, Brennan has shown that he was as capable as Burrow showed in 2018. With time with the receivers in the off season, there is no reason he can't shine in this offense.
I've got more confidence in Brennan than any other QB in the SEC.

Agree with fairly even play calling. Would be dumb to argue with facts. The difference in yardage tells part of our success story. As well as when we called pass plays. We hit so many big plays from our passing game last year. Hence, the record setting year. We have to expect some kind of dropoff. Burrow was great at eluding the initial pass rush, then hitting receivers. We don't know how well Brennan will do that in his first year as starter. Also, our play calling had us passing more in run situations and running a lot in some passing situations. Let's hope we continue that. I hope they let Brennan pass on first down as much as we did last year. I think we will and expect a solid year from Brennan and our offense as a whole.

Based on his limited duty in mop up time when his number one objective is to run clock?

Thanks for the insight, Dan Orlovsky.

I feel for the guy somewhat. He has a ton of pressure on him and the first bad game he has LSU fans will crucify him.
