At this time, I think Brennan gives LSU the best chance to win.

When you score 50 points and lose. The loss is not the offenses fault...plain and simple. The QB can't keep the other team from scoring.
Except for the time he had 4 downs to score a TD from the 1 to win the game and couldn’t do it.

Damn, you went off the deep end. I thought all that acid and weed would have mellowed you out.

Myles was injured, pretty seriously at that time. It's not difficult to separate the folks who played sports from those who were in the marching band on this board.

Its stupid to take a side one way or the other. Let it play out.

agreed

Brennan is a veteran as far as time in the program, game prep etc, learning new playbooks etc but even after all these years, he's light on actual relevant snaps as a starter.

While this is obviously true, there is an advantage to simply being an older, more mature human being. Our starting QBs during our 5 SEC Championship seasons the past 20 years, including the 3 NCs, obviously:

2001–Rohan Davey—5th-year SR

2003–Matt Mauck—4th-year JR (but was 23 or 24 after playing minor league baseball)

2007–Matt Flynn—5th-year SR

2011–Jordan Jefferson—4th-year SR/Jarrett Lee—5th-year SR

2019–Joe Burrow—5th-year SR

Now, I’m not saying we concede every season we don’t have a 22+-year-old QB or that we automatically give the job to Myles this season. Just that maturity is an attribute, and though you can certainly be mature at an early age, there’s still a big difference between 19 and 22. And I’m sure Myles will have a lot less schoolwork in the fall and will be able to spend more time “in the building” studying football. To be clear, I am not saying this alone should make Brennan the starter—or that he should be the starter at all—just that it should help him.

Hmm the one who beat Florida and ole miss or the one who lost to Missouri and miss state...

Brennan was not the reason that LSU's loses to MSU. The defense giving up a record amount of yards and 44 points is the reason LSU lost to MSU. The LSU team that Johnson started for was completely different than the team that Brennan started for. LSU's defense started to have a pulse and actually kept teams from scoring at will. If you are going to compare them based on wins and loses you have to keep in mind the state of the rest of the team. I want the best QB on the roster to be the starter and if Myles thinks that is him then I fully support him giving Johnson a run for his money.

What is the object of the game? Wins of stats? Maybe you should check your brain. I love all of you on here that quote stats and arm strength. Doesn't mean a damn thing.
you’re dumb.

Let me explain this. If we had a defense like we did in 2011 last year with brennan and the offensive guys we had, no one would be complaining about brennan. Its unfair to judge a qb on wins and losses in a season like the one we just had because the defense was utter shite the first half of the season and played better with Max at the end of the season.

Myles is by far the best quarterback we have.

that's debatable, and even if it is true, he isn't "by far" the best.

That was a typo. I meant to type 40. the point is the same, though.

Oh you mean that time he was playing through a season ending injury and no running back had the nuts to get in the end zone so he had to try to do it himself?

That the time you’re talking about?

Max sneaks that ball across in 1 maybe 2 tries. Not an option with Myles

Go watch the replays of Finley in his first start, behind that OL. He outweighs Brennan by about fifty pounds and he couldn't sneak a yard either.

Missouri and Mississippi wasnt Myles fault. Brennan and Max are both good. Either one will ge fine with me, but I believe Myles deserves the chance if we can actually stop anyone this time.

Yeah now we have solid QB’s but they are forced to run for their lives because we can’t seem to land any decent OL (and/or can’t coach up the ones we have)
