Brennan’s movement in the pocket makes me a little nervous. His footwork isn’t a calm and reassuring as joes,

I see what you are talking about but it may not bee a negative. It just may be his style. Maybe his feet will settle down and become more efficient with more playing time.

. He has some wiggle and decent scrambling ability.

That surprised me a lot too, he's not a burner but at the 2 minute mark he shows he's fast enough.

Brennan being in the peach bowl w/ 7 min to go in the 4th has me

Reading Defenses, Check Downs

These 2 things right here need work but, he is completely capable. I think he's going to be fun to watch the next couple of seasons. Just needs to be himself.

He looks good, but didn’t see any red zone passes. That’s where Burrow was lethal.

He's fun to watch and that was enjoyable.

Brennan is going to catch a LOT of folks off guard next year.

thank you for making this or linking it, it should quite some idiots on here. It shows he has the goods if he keeps up the work in the off season which i think he will.

Negatives:
Happy feet, not “throwing receivers open” safe passes against directional schools and defeated opponents.

Positives:
Keeps eyes downfield, laser for an arm, pretty mobile, two years of watching and absorbing the genius that is Joe Burrow.

Overall pretty hopeful.

I have no doubt in his throwing ability, I'm more concerned with his scrambling when the pocket collapse.

He looked stiff in the beginning of the season. Definitely a quick release gunslinger type, once he loosens up he should be a force to be reckoned with.

Some other thoughts:
-Good pocket mobility and awareness, but can be hesitant when it's time to scramble. Shows good speed though.

-Again, looks a little jittery with reads but still progresses through them which is a good sign. Should be very smooth with more reps. Not afraid to dump the ball off, even if it's not always the best play.

-Good footwork. Throwing motion is a bit extended and low. Generally gets the ball in a good, catchable spot but I can see him shorting some.

-Great feel for throws down the middle and throwing receivers on crossing routes open. I'd like to see him hit some of those bombs that made us so lethal this year, which I would say he'll have the opportunity to do more as QB1 rather than clock runoff.

I think Brennan is very talented and shows evidence of understanding this new system. I'd say the two main factors that will determine his success next year is 1. how he responds to pressure/extending plays while looking downfield and 2. Hitting an accurate and catchable deep ball. We have the talent at WR and RB to be very productive on Offense next year if he can succeed at those two things.

Dude, now why you gotta get on here and expound upon my perfectly succinct evaluation, thus rendering my post, and any subsequent reactions to said post, irrelevant.

Sigh...

JK,
Good insight.

We know he has the arm. What I want to know if he is smart and if he has the balls to stand in the pocket and take hits. If so, he has a chance to do something great.

Brennan is going to be ready to go by the start of next fall

He can and will succeed in this offense and the best part is he absolutely earned it.
