Leaving early during a blowout so people can beat the traffic is not new, for any team

I think the issue is the stadium is emptying out around halftime regardless of score these days. Last night was a 10-10 tie. Granted, the game was about as enjoyable as paint drying to that point, but what it shows i think is there are tons of people who are showing up and then leaving without really caring what the result is. I mean, if you leave at halftime you are saying you are ok with missing at least some if not all of the 2nd half depending on where you are going and how long it takes to get there.

Not everyone is from BR or lives there. That is my point. They will take whatever route their gps tells them to (good or bad). Or the way the cop forces them to go. Not everyone can get through their in 15-20 min, and honestly if you can do that after the bama game you should run for city planner because i dont believe that to be possible.

I used to live at nicholson and brightside. I can assure you traffic lasted longer than 25 min. I could walk home, sit on my patio, and watch another hour of gridlock. That was after scoreboard hit 00:00.

If i drove in from Austin in the early morning to get to an LSU game by around 1 pm, tailgated all day, and watched us beat the shite out of Southern Miss until it was a blowout i would say I'm just as much a fan as the next person.

Fix the traffic flow to something more manageable; quit piping in the jungle music in attempts to make it more like the NFL; quit pricing a lot of folks out of the market - like it or not some are simply not as affluent; and expand handicapped parking for some of us older folks who actually need it. Do those things and I would consider coming back. Until then, like another person, I also let my tickets go. It is a lot easier to watch on a big screen home theater at home. Not the same as being there, but it will do.

Why the frick do you care? I've stayed for games we won and games we lost. My presence doesn't mean jack shite to the outcome. And if it does, we have bigger problems then attendance. LSU is not unique with fans leaving early. Quit worrying about it. People leave early from everything- work, school, church, a movie. It's not wrong. It's the individuals choice.
You want to stay till they turn the lights off, go for it. But quit worrying about what everyone else does.

The student section has become an embarrassment. They were gone by halftime and many were leaving before that. The Greeks were 100% gone by half. Need to take away priority seating and give it to people who stay. None of these folks have traffic to worry about...

I disagree Great Lakes. I could think of a few hundred folks ( just myself) who would "kill" for a ticket and you would have to frickin make em leave after the game

there are $20(ish) tickets for just about every game. Wtf are you talking about?

If you recall when you were that age, you did the game and was then ready to go back and frick. If the girl was in the mood before the game ended, you left early so you could enjoy what was the true climax of the evening. (pun intended) Kids haven't changed that much.

Well I only get to come down 1-2 x's a year if I'm lucky and I've always stayed untill about 2-3min left on games in hand. I know that doesn't make a huge difference and traffic is jammed up but it only takes me about 30 min or so to get to interstate to head home. I usually get to car as the post gsme starts and we listen in and enjoy. No reason ppl can't stay an extra 45 min or so it's not gonna affect them that much. If they got a few hour drive they will get home about the same time either way. 30 min won't change anything

Good lord. Now i understand why some people think we have the worst fans. People show up and pay money to go to a game. Then decide they want to head out a little early for whatever reason and now they are shitty selfish fans.

And to your point: 45 extra minutes in the car with a child can make a HUGE difference. Why doesn't everyone just enjoy the game for themselves and not try to judge people for leaving a blow out game against a non conference opponent.

I would LOVE some free tickets to a game, but just because i cant go I'm not going to sit here and bitch about fans who left early.

I disagree. You only get a handful of home games as a student and before you know it, you're graduated and sitting with the regular folks or watching from afar wishing you were back in the student section again. The parties and intercourse are great, but those things will be there all of the time.

I stayed to the end last year at the Florida game. It took at least 2 hours to get out of the parking garage by the bookstore. I completely understand why people leave early

I was in that crap. Worst of my life. I gave up at that point. Gotta sleep in Baton Rouge. No more leaving after the game.

The cops there are a joke.

Full disclosure, I left in the third quarter last night. I had free tix and took my sons and godsons (ages 2, 4, 6, and 8). They were all well behaved but my youngest was about done by that time (he's fallen asleep on me at games before). Anyway, it was the first time I've ever left early. But holy shite, the whole beating traffic thing is legit. From my parking spot to passing laberge took about 10 min. That's usually an hour plus for a normal game...

Last night's game in the first 2 quarters was atrocious football. Boring! USM used all 3 timeouts, that coupled with injuries and other stoppage of play, made the first half a Les-esque sleeper. I was in West Stadium club and 2/3 of the people in 107 didn't come back after halftime. We want to be entertained.

Exactly my point. People here don't seem to get that whatsoever. Would you have liked to waited until 0:00 and then gone through traffic with all those boys? Better yet would you have wanted to do all that AND drive another 1+ hours home? Somehow, if you answer yes you are "selfish".

Some people are just dense and don't understand your/that point. I 100% get it though. I can't wait to bring my little girl to a game, but now, apparently, i have to fill out a survey at the exit gates to explain why my child is exhausted.

There was a group of frat pledges wearing red ties that were there well into the 4th quarter, so you're mistaken.

ED OSTEEN and a few others. I didn't go in this game. Should I had gone in. I stay till the buzzer. I NEVER leave early. Also, I was not giving folks a hard time. Just talking to them. It was fun- we enjoyed talking about it. Nobody told me anything even remotely nasty. So... go frick YOURSELF sir

This is absolute bullshite. I had an extra ticket to this game and could not even give it away. I ended up giving it to some girl trying to get into the stadium in front of me when her paper print out ticket wouldn't scan.

Same thing for Missouri. I had 2 extra tickets and couldn't give them away in front of the stadium. There were hundreds of people trying to sell extra tickets to the Mizzou game.

This is one of the biggest myths. You could go to every game for less than it would cost to buy season tickets though the ticket office. You might pay over face value for Bama, Ole Miss, Florida, A&M, or Auburn, but the rest you can get at or below face value with no problem.

I brought my 6 month old (first time) and my 2 year old. We chose this game so that we could leave at half time, and we did. Sorry for not partying.
