Why would Nuss want to be putting these horrible games on his resume?? It makes little sense because he is losing lots of future NFL $$$. If it were me, I would be sitting for next year and live on another year of NIL$$.

I do believe a deal was cut with Kelly though, but I would think Nuss has the power to let him out of that deal.

I think MVB's wheels alone would have warranted him getting some designed plays on Saturday

Only issue with this is that Sloan's playcalling would make it so obvious that MVB was only in the game to run the ball.

BK - " Im going to go with the other guy team Nuss"

Team Nuss - " No your not, he is going to play through and out of this slump, we have a deal BK".

It makes perfect fricking sense.

He’s not

He is. He was a true freshman, and put up vastly better stats than true freshman Underwood has put up vs OU and Nebraska. He played solely SEC teams, 6 of the 8 he started were Top 20 teams, 5 were Top 15, no cupcakes, and first 2 starts were road games verse Top 5 teams. He averaged in a sole SEC schedule, 7.5 yards per attempt, as a true freshman with lesser WRs and talent at Miss St. Nuss has averaged 6.0 yards per attempt against Power 4 this year. Not even accounting for qb scrambling, his 2024 numbers and level of competition and being a true freshman has been better than 5th year senior 2025 Nuss.

If you say his INT stats, well Nuss had nearly 2x as many INTs last year. True Freshman tend to have more INTs than 2nd year QBs.

In other words, you're just wrong.

At the end of the day - Kelly wants to win and knows there is tremendous criticism if he looses.

With that, he still chose Nuss. I do not think it has anything to do with "loyalty" and everything to do with the fact he believes that Nuss is his best option to win.

I believe the donors that have Nussmeier in commercials definitely influence that he starts and stays in games with threats of money drying up.

I don't. People are way too quick to make judgements. He isn't going to change mid-game the 1st time everyone says 'alright we need a new QB'. Especially with the politics involved here. A preseason Heisman favorite with a Top 10 draft pick rating in mock drafts, that has been at LSU for 5 years and never bailed. There are absolutely politics involved in this. However, I think the pressure to win this year with $18 mil in NIL is so big that he would consider MVB during weekdays. Kelly knows how irrate this fanbase is. Just look at the Instagram comments on his latest post.

This is more likely a Sunday-Thursday type decision made in his office with Joe Sloan. Not a mid-game on the road while we were undefeated at that point type decision.

There is no way a head coach that has been at this for 4 decades could see Nuss throwing rainbows that apex'd height at 60 ft and capped out at 40 mph, and landed 5 yards short of the WR... there's no way he thinks that is better than MVB. There's no way he thinks throwing into triple coverage multiple times is better than MVB. It's politics, but I feel the pressure will be too much for BK to give in to politics, and he'll eventually give MVB a chance.

There has to be some under the table money exchange or handshake deal between BK and the Nuss team that prevents BK from benching him.

Admit the injury. Let him heal up. It may help his draft stock go back up a bit.

When he’s healthy, let him shine in a playoff game.

Coach needs to put aside Nuss’s and his own ego and do what is in the best interest of the team.

Having the same agent, as you point out, may have influenced the situation.
