The baseball portal has been like the NBA draft so far. The difference between the top couple players versus the 6th best player has been pretty substantial

Paul's teams were more fundamentally sound without question. Things just got stale. He would've been asked to step down in 2020 had that season gone on imo

Agree, we wanted Ahuna and Waldrep
But we also signed multiple elite players that everyone wanted
We will never get them all. The shift I have seen is that the very top players are now going elsewhere.
We did well late in the process to get kids like Dickinson and Eyanson, which makes sense because we had money to spend and other bidders had less positions open.
Had we reeled in Kilen, I doubt we get Dickinson and he defaults to some place like Tennessee. But we were the default.

Again, when Jay had everything in his favor he bought the Tommys and Skenes. The last two cycles, we've seen the playing field level on NIL and he's lost the most coveted kids in the Portal.

Agree, Amick wasn't hitting .413 in the SEC

How about you figure out what you want to argue. You keep contradicting yourself. How can Kilen's impact be measured at Tenn when they have yet to play anybody worth a frick but Dickinson and Milam we have to wait and see how they do in SEC play and Milam already has SEC success and Kilen does not? My point is that at LSU you have every advantage along with money
Tony has no advantages except he's a winner, plays a style of ball that kids like, and now has boosters on board at a level that he can take kids away from someone like Jay who has everything in his favor.

Jay landed the #1 portal class by just about any publication. Your point is null and void because you want to pick and choose the players you want he didnt land.
