I honestly think he sticks at WR. He's huge but he is kind of narrow at the hip which would make inline blocking difficult for him.

I missed this. are they OFFICIALLY moving him to WR or is this TD speculation?

Agreed. I think Green and Pimpton could really help at WR.

And move a 2nd or 3rd team OL to TE if we ever go 2 TE.

Plus the kid had a 3.9 gradepoint average at Zachary H.S.
He’s a freak. He’s built for being a WR.

I think Kelly mentioned playing him more , and just getting him on the field more with wr injuries, and you have to think they don’t want Taylor out much, so at wr just makes sense

Coach Kelly said they will start using Green as a wide receiver. May not be full time but at least some of the time.

that and read between the tea leaves his run blocking as a TE needs alot of improvement. Out at WR, he doesn't have to worry about that as much.

More of a TD over reaction. He is still a TE, but we will see more of him split out wide in a WR role.

Let’s not expect him to start getting more targets than Lacy or Anderson, but hopefully more plays for him in the redzone

He was asked about moving Green to WR and this was his answer:

quote:

"I think that's what we have to do," Kelly said. "We're probably at a position now where watching him play — all of the complexities of playing the tight end position being eliminated by getting him more in a wide receiver role, I think we're getting to that point where we've made the decision.

"That has to happen."

This brings up the question, wtf happened to Shelton Sampson. He's been given every opportunity. Still pulling for him, hopefully he's just a late bloomer. Imagine there's a good chance he's in the portal after this season.

Green looked unstoppable on that slant. He looked like a WR, not a TE running a route.

I genuinely think the play action slant play that he scored on would work ten times in a game. He will be a big help for third downs to move the chains.

He looks checked out every time he's in the game. Was really hoping he would follow in BTJ's footsteps. Similar measurables and 40 time.

Its not realistic to think the average true freshman can come in and
learn the system and preform at a high level .There are those who can
Breaux,McKinley and a few others but most take time.TEs and recievers
need to learn to read the D coverages run the right routes make the right
blocks etc. its not as easy as fans think.

Many of the "receiving" tight ends in the NFL are actual split out on most plays. With Green still on the light side at this point in his career, he is a nightmare matchup with his height and athletism. It's a great way to get him on the field

We should have done this in August. It likely would have resulted in Markum staying. TDG can play NOW as a WR. He doesn’t really have the body to play as a TE in the SEC yet. Glad they figured it out , just wish this had been the plan since 8/1.

Hoping he has an Aaron Anderson-esque LSU year 2. Because I think he's had his chances this year.
