Logan - Shelvin - Ika - Farrell

That’s is a huge DL that’s will generate 8 combined sacks a year.

That’s a terrible idea.

You don’t need 2 NTs on the field in modern football.

And before you say “Their job was to eat blocks in Aranda’s syste!” That most definitely wasn’t their job when we We’re pass rushing 4 guys.

I would Imagine Logan and Ferrell at DTs in this system.

In a 3-4 he was a DE.

Yes.....to me he looks best suited as a 4-3 DT that we would have moved to 3-4 DE if Aranda had stayed.

It's kind of silly. LSU certainly could change to a 4-3, but it won't be because that's all Bo knows how to coach.

Correct. It would probably be because it's what he prefers and feels is most effective...……....which is why he's perceived as a "4-3 guy". Not because people think it's all he knows.

Sheesh

Clemson runs a 4-3 right? And before anyone says yeah we put a blowout on them, Burrow only had a 63% completion rate against them. That was by FAR his worst completion % this year (71% was next worst).

that had nothing to do with it being a 4-3 or 3-4. it was the #2 team in the country.

Roy could play any DL position besides NT. He’s got great size, moves and speed.

I think The transition will be interesting. Some BOLB are gonna need to bulk way up. I dont Know what we’re gonna do with our 330+ NT guys. Well either adjust the system ou just phase them out.

I am Wondering where certain guys fit in.

We didn’t have 340 points NTs in Pelini’s system, and we have 3-4 on the roster

We also have a lot of guys in 230 that we’re going to be BOLB edge rushers who I don’t think can hold up to being 4-3 DEs without putting on significant weight.

It going to a real stransition. We also don’t have a ton of 4-3 OLB.

This is my biggest gripe with the hire. LSU has FINALLY gotten the roster where it needs to be to maximize the 3-4 and it appears we're going in a different direction.

You watched the game and didn’t see Clemson in an odd front the entire game? Seriously they played a 3 man front against LSU and you watched the game and didn’t notice. Then posted this garbage as fact.

It was the #1 defense in the country, which runs a base 4-3, which is my point. Some are saying you can't have a good D against today's spread offenses with a base 4-3. Sure you can. Isn't Auburn also 4-3?

Auburn also played a 3 man front against LSU. Again you are lost.

people who are so happy to be back to Bo and the 4-3 to get more pressure please read below:

Sacks Under Bo:
2006: 39
2007: 37
2008: 28

Sacks under Aranda:
2016:36
2017:39
2018:34
2019:37

so... where are you getting this false hope from? Just curious. and Aranda's defense wasnt really about rushing the passer. so what does that say about Bo's?

I would bet teams throw the ball more now than when Bo was here. Meaning more opportunities for Aranda defense.

Bruh, chill. I just said not including freshmen, and those are literally the only 4 guys worth a shite on the DLine that have played... Justin Thomas would be great for DE, but who knows what his status is.

Reality is that this isn't going to be that drastic of a change overnight. I imagine next year will look very similar to this year, except with a different passrusher replacement for Chaisson. We ran a shite ton of 4 down linemen this year anyway. So:

Passrusher (weakside) - Logan - Shelvin/Ika - Farrell (Strongside)

I think We were moving to more attacking penetrating DEs. I dont Think Logan and Lawrence were the prototype going forward if Aranda remained

If we witch to a 4/3 I see Him being a DT but don’t forget, Pelini has some big DEs.

Tyson Jackson, Pepe Livingston
Jarred Crick at Nebraska was very good and 285 yokes.

Of course not. But saying Auburn and Clemson had most success stopping LSU and they run base 4-3 means nothing when they played odd fronts against LSU.

In today’s college football base D really doesn’t mean a lot. It’s just ignorant for people to think going back 4-3 is gonna be “more disruptive”. It’s plain ignorant.
