Hey people were just being realistic. They hadnt seen anything to show that we could play a game like that. At least that's what they were saying.

There's a difference between being realistic & lacking a real football IQ. Anybody that knows football could see that many of the offensive problems this season began with injuries & shuffling of the offensive line. With the team being young & inexperienced at QB & WR, the transitions along the line caused problems for the entire offense. How could anyone expect consistency when the O-Line was struggling to consistently block anyone upfront?

Instead of complaining during the A & M game, people should have been paying closer attention. The O-Line play had gotten better in both run & pass blocking. This improvement began to give Mett time to look down the field & find receivers. Did he miss some of his throws that game? Yes, but it was really the first time this year that he really consistently had time to look downfield.

The truth is it was going to take time for both Mett & his young receiving corp to really gel & anyone with good eyes could begin to see that the right steps were being taken. Did I expect the light to come against Bama the way it did? No & doubt anyone else did either. At least now we know what Mett & the offense is truly capable of. It just took getting healthy, experienced & the right players in the right position.

Passing game A ?

WTF We had at least 4 drops in the 1st half alone that definitely cost us points!

And you give it an "A"

Thats just enough right there to make anyone stop reading your post.

BTW.....take off your p& g glasses and like the rest of the country you'de be able to see how fricking dumb the fake fg was that gave a td to Bama.

We won the game except our game time coaching failed us again, and again, and again.....Miles has no clue when its on the line...."mad hatter" LOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOL

Look this is on the stupid "Lou Tepper" prevent defense and who the hell was responsible for it. They gave up 14 points in three minutes when regular D gave up 7 and got two turnovers. It let AJ settle in and Saban admitted he was expecting and prepared for it. They players looked confused and blew coverages etc. It should be retired forever. It reminded me of the 3rd and Chevis UT fans warned us about. So maybe it is our best coaches fault this time.

Who do you think made the call to play prevent at the end of the half and game?

Was it Chief or CLM?

I think it was Les's call.

... and it pisses me off.

Admitted it was a bad call.

I guess we should fire him then? Rigth? That won't really hurt LSU and Louisiana's image of being a bunch of dumb drunk coonasses.

Serious question: If you were the AD, would you fire Miles? If so, who would you hire?

All year, this board has said it was ALL Chavis' offense. The favorite quote is "I wish Miles would leave the offense alone like he does the defense."

Now, a loss in the final drive, it's Miles defense.

Honestly, i think it was Chief. Les tends to stay the frick out of the Defense's way.

If Les butted in, no doubt Chief would've left us for UGA. that, and Chavis has shown in his coaching history his tendency to do this at critical times.

I'm sorry, but if you are looking at Vegas spreads to determine who is better, then you don't know very much about football.

the way LSU has played and the way Bama has played this year, and determine that bama is the better team

Yeah Bama was better until this game. But they played head to head and LSU dominated the game in every single phase. 430 yards to 330 yards. 40 minutes to 20 minutes TOP. 22 first downs to 18 first downs I believe. 2 Turnovers to 0. 88 plays by LSU to like 53 I think. LSU was a MUCH better team that night and if the offense continues to show up like it did, we could easily beat Bama in a rematch.

Just like last year with McCarron and losing to LSU, his light bulb went off somewhere between that loss and the NCG. Mett's light has gone off. A lot of rapport was developed with those WRs on Saturday night. If this offense keeps rolling, this team will be tough to beat the rest of this year and in 2013 as well.

Yep. Only game I'm really worried about is MSU. Players may start slow.

I think we outclass Ole Miss and beat Arky.

I just gotta hope FSU beats UF and Bama beats aTm and UGA. If taht happens, we're going to have a pretty "sweet" bowl game.

Yes, that makes sense now that I engage my brain.

Still pissed that we ran it, though.

I think its really funny how people come in and try to comment and prove how stupid they are by being wrong.

You do realize after the fake field goal we ran, Bama had a 3 and out right?

They had a 3 play drive for 2 yards that laste 58 seconds.

At least if you are going to talk shite, look stuff up so you don't prove to everyone how dumb you are.

Also 2 things affected that call.

1. The personal foul call on Copeland. If we have the ball at the 13, we don't try a fake FG. See item 2.

2. Alleman has not been very good this year to put it nicely. A 47 yard FG (LOS was the 30) would have been a real stretch for him to make.

If alleman made the FG, I think we would've run it adn it would've been a good decision.

But being up 3 and only rushing 3-----very dumb and very distrusting of our secondary.

Very well said. We assumed a lot of young talent would play like experienced talent from the first game on. Expectations were very high, and should be, LSU is very good. But realistically, when you replaced 16 starters, you have to crawl before you walk. LSU may very well walk the rest of this season and come out running next year.

If Miles had enough faith in Mett to throw 35 times against Bama, this bodes very well for the offense moving forward.

It's just not logical.

Rushing 4 kept Bama in check.

Rush 3 before half and they score easily.

With the game on the line... rushes 3 again.

Great Post!!!!
You nailed it. I was so pumped by what I saw Saturday night. What all the Miles Haters are missing is how the Tigers were literally transformed in the two weeks since we last saw them. Yes, we cudda and SHUDDA beat the Gumps, due a lot to a few, (IN HINDSIGHT), bad decisions and at least one stupid penalty, but there is a lot of upside in what I saw Saturday.

God help Mett if he throws a pic in the next game.

Les will rein him in again. I just know it.

ETA: This is a very entertaining and frustrating team to watch.

It was Chief, he is a great coach, wouldn't trade him for anyone in the country but it was a mistake. We all make them. Everyone needs to get off Les's arse including me. The fake FG was bizarre but shite we all know he would have missed anyway. I loved the onside kick and it worked great except, the kicker again.

And he should have gone for it on 4th down, he was just a wierd play call. If anything Les called it too conservative at the end if you want to critize him for something. A play action pass and I think we win. Mett should have had his trust at that point.

We has not outcoached by Saban in this game, in my opinion. His crazy shite drives Saban nuts and his teams feed off it. Only when Saban saw what he knew was coming like in the NC game and in our prevent did he eat our lunch.

Just blame it all on the damn prevent defense, it prevented us from winning another SEC title, shot at National Championship, etc.

I liked the onside kick call.

As for the fake, I still don't like it in retrospect, but I can accept an argument that says he was setting a mindset for the team as to what they were looking to do Saturday night, which was clearly evident when they came out in the second half.
