Anyone putting up those stats in a Les Miles offense deserves a statue.

You think Rohan Davey was underappreciated? He was beloved.
Most people give Rohan his props. I think a lot of people would rank him as #3 on LSU's all-time QB list. He's definitely behind Burrow & JaMarcus.

Mauck would be my pick. He had VERY good numbers & won a NC.
A lot of people on this board would rank Matt Flynn above Mauck. I thought Mauck was easily the better college QB.

Rohan is one of the most popular former Tigers. Hard to consider him under appreciated

Mike Hillman
Buddy Lee
Mickey Guidry
Alan Risher
If you didn't see them play, don't comment.

There is a special place in my LSU heart for Rohan!
His ability to throw the ball accurately with defenders wrapped around his waist was a thing of beauty. To this day I recall on numerous occasions watching with awe as Rohan flailed the ball around in his hand as he sort of hula hopped guys off of him and eventually completed the pass downfield usually to Reed. I was a thing of beauty.
Also don’t get me started on what kind of team leader he was.

We lost to TROY with him at QB. I’m pretty sure he got benched at one point during that game too and Brennan had to come in.
He got injured, not benched. He came back in and scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to cut Troy’s lead to 3. We win if Etling plays the whole game.

In my opinion I would say Matt Mauck and Jordan Jefferson. We won a lot of games with those guys behind center.

very underrated QB for us
His numbers are really deceptive. LSU had an atypically weak schedule that year, as A&M, Tennessee, Florida, and Arkansas all fired their coaches, and BYU was quite poor by their standards. Most of Etling's "gaudy" numbers were amassed against inferior competition, and quite honestly he consistently underperformed. He was so bad against Syracuse and Troy he had to be benched in favor of Myles Brennan!

So it wasn't Etling who threw that nauseating game-ending interception that night?
