Shaq, but Skenes is poised to pass him IF he can get a WS ring or two. He just needs to bide his time until the Yankees or Dodgers come calling with the payday.
looks like there's a bunch of different barometers being used to measure success but I'll throw a name out there, Dr. James Andrews has had a pretty successful ride

Shaq
Shaq is literally a super human both physically and non-physical/intangible. The man has succeeded at everything he's ever done (except rap music, lol) at the highest levels. He transcends race and politics and is loved by all. I honestly believe he could start his own political party (Shaqtocrats/Shaqticans) and run for president in 2028 and win it in a landslide. I know I would vote for him.

Joe Bill Adcock and Bob Petit should be on this list as well.

More love for Johnny Robinson.

Steve Van Buren (I don't think this is particularly close if you are looking at an entire career)
I like to call Steve Van Buren Jim Brown before Jim Brown. He had that kind of career. He was the first running back in NFL history to rush for over 10 TDs in a season (12 game season). And he did it 3 times!
When he retired, he held the records for most rushes, most yards and most TDs in NFL history.
2x NFL champion (he was the best player on the only Eagles teams to win Super Bowls (back to back) for over 60 years)
7x All-Pro (including 5x First Team All-Pro)
4x Rushing Leader
4x TD leader
Lead the NFL in scoring 1945
NFL 1940's All Decade Team
NFL 75th Anniversary Team
NFL 100th Anniversary Team (this says it all)
Eagles Retired Jersey
First-team All-SEC in 1943 (he was used shittily at LSU and Bernie Moore admitted as such because he used him primarily as a blocker until his senior season)

I love Shaq. I remember the days of seeing him in tigerland and he would act a fool and as nice as they come. I ran into him at Office Depot, of all places, in his 1st or second year at Orlando and he greeted me as if he remembered me from the bars. He was still just a big kid at the time...i think he was there to see one of the workers

I met Dale Brown a few times while at LSU, always as nice as could be, a few years after I got out of school I flew the basketball team to a NCAA regional in SLC, he acted as if he remembered me and we talked for quite a bit, fast forward a few years to his retirement celebration at the PMAC, I was one of the first to walk in, he was the first person I met as I walked in the door, he acted like we were old friends, took me by the arm and we basically did a lap around the PMAC just talking, and there were some pretty big names piling in wanting his time

we got bounced out of that regional in not a good way, he was chewing arse all the way back to Baton Rouge, we could hear him through the cockpit door, good thing that was pre cell phones, the things he was saying to those kids would have gotten him cancelled today, he was hot

No NIL in his day. No guarantee of the Olympics if he's the best in the world but misses a jump at the USA Trials. LOADS of cash offered to perform in Europe at the age of 19.
Like you wouldn't leave the US for a better job in Europe?

Technically, it would be Mondo. Doesn't he have like 12 world records?

Most accomplished in his sport after he left LSU? It is easily Mondo Duplantis.
2 Olympic Golds,
3 World Championships and one runner-up
3 World Indoor Championships
5 consecutive 1st place finishes in the Diamond League Final
Currently holds the World Record and has set the mark 14 times

Dumb post. His family holds dual citizenships and Sweden was smart about it. They asked his dad to coach on the Swedish team. His mom is from Sweden. Track and field are much bigger in Europe than in the USA and he is making a lot more money there.
Mondo is the correct answer and it isn't even close. 2 NCAA championships, 22 gold medals, highest pole vault in the world by age bracket 13 times, he has set a new world record 14 times. He is considered the greatest pole vaulter in the history of the world. As much I love all of the LSU greats mentioned they weren't/aren't considered the best in history.
