They would be better off if they had listened to me. I wanted to hire Brady back on a 3 year contract until all the bullshite was over, then either decide to roll with him or hire a new contract.

Woodward should never be allowed to negotiate anymore contracts. Dude just blows money.

Wade's fault. When you put the program in jeopardy of punishment, you have to overpay the replacement to deal with the fallout

In this situation you only overpay on the replacement if you have THE guy proven at the P5 level where circumstances caused them to be available.

I.E. Chris beard.

You don’t overpay for the flavor of the month midmajor Murray state coach where so many others have come from and failed.

That "shrimp boat captain' gave you the best season in NCAA FB history. 17 millionn was peanuts. What had MM done to deserve that contract?

What Mascona intentionally keeps leaving out is that it is paid monthly over the remaining term of the contract and is offset by any basketball income McMahon earns.

LSU would not have to stroke a $10MM check on day 1. The right hire would generate more than enough to offset the cost. This basketball program is making less money (net) today than it has in a long time. The better question is how can we afford not to fire him.

You are right no school would want a coach that just went 15-0 with numbers player awards and him being named coach of the year.

Why aren't you bitching about the 100 million dollar contract Kelly was given? What other school would have given that to him?

They obviously didn’t and still don’t.

We bid against ourselves

….I do

I think Woodward has a very poor record as AD and the vast majority of it is football related

Massive extension for Orgeron

Ridiculous contract for pelini

Massive contract for Kelly allowing for next to zero flexibility

I 100% think Kelly shouldn’t have been given a 10 year contract.

think the complaint is about McMahon getting a 7 year contract. It doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I was very surprised at the time he got a 7 year deal right off the bat. I had assumed the standard length of a new basketball coach was in the 4 to 5 year range.

However, there were six new SEC coaches hired in 2022, and a 6 year contract was the standard.

If other schools were giving out deals for 6 years, I understand LSU adding an extra year to CMM’s deal because of the uncertainty hanging over program at the time.

Right. He gave him way to long of a contract. And I don't want to hear the bs about some phantom sanctions.

Move on to someone else if he doesn't want to accept a normal 4 or 5 yr deal.

He went on talking about everyone in the SEC NIL earning and and saying we had zero talent.

I mean the talent on the team wasn't great. Now who knows if mcmcahon really did give dji bailey 450k. If so he should be fired just for that.

I'd love to know what each player got. Either way the players seem to leave every yr.

It makes sense for a Brian Kelly, Kim Mulkey or Jay Johnson, but don’t guarantee contracts for coaches who are getting a shot at the big time. The shot is the attraction; if that’s not enough move on to the next one.
