It sounds like they had a "want" for a "quality" corndog.

Enjoyed your post very much. It sounds like Holgorsen is a perfect fit for the image that many of the Mountaineer fans want to project.

After reading this I'm happy we hosted first. I'm not sure what kind of a reception WV fans would have received from LSU students after reading some of these stories.

I went down to AU the year after the hosted us. They were nice people but they felt the urge to remind us how much more nicer and classier they were than us every 5 minutes. It got so obnoxious being told that "this is how you treat a fan" etc. Like I was being lectured by my parents. I'm sorry AU fans had a bad time in Morgantown the ones I talked to loved it, but them being condescending didn't exactly make me want to come back either.

Besides when I went to Auburn I kind of wanted a touch of heckling, I thought they were just really weak at it. Incest chants and telling me to go frick my sister was pretty lame. I did notice though that they became really irritated with our first down chant, a few of them made it a point to do it in my face mockingly when they got one. And I did have one guy slap me on the back sarcastically wishing me luck, fricker hit me hard though. But overall I just felt like they were kind of the kid who was like "Oh yeah... well you guys aren't very good at football"

Guy is spot own, everyone over 30 was very accommodating nice and appreciative we came to Morgantown, however most under 30 were complete jackasses. Got in our face and flipped us off, called us figs and told us to frick off, typical tigers suck dick and corndog references. Had a few trip some of my friends and throw food at us but this was limited to the frat younger crowd.

I agree. Everything I heard was just a straight forward "frick LSU" or "go frick yourself". Probably got about 10 of those and seven were from girls.

Overall, I felt like more of their fans were friendly than rude though

I hate that some of you had bad experiences. If any of you here stayed in the Hotel Morgantown, i was the guy that yelled Lets Go Mountaineers and came over to welcome you to Morgantown. Also if any of yall sat in Sec. 102 row 7 I was the guy in the row in front with the gold wig lol. Yall were nice people. On the bright side I suppose the outcome of the game made your trip better haha. Honestly, after the game I hope LSU wins the rest of their games and goes all the way. You guys are nice people and I hope to make it to Baton Rouge for a game soon. And Mountaineers

from most accounts/friends i have spoken with it sounds like morgantown is complete garbage and a stinkhole. Everyone i talked to said they would NOt go back. people there were animals. sad indeed. Thank goodness they will not be joining our beloved SEC.

I disagree. I was treated well. On the contrary... I was embarrassed when the band tried to play neck. We have no business calling anothr fan base classless when we chant "suck that Tiger deck".

Before we start trashing other fan bases we should clean up our own house. Go ahead and flame away...

I certainly don't disagree that our fanbase isn't perfect however I think there's a pretty significant difference in adding some color to song lyrics and repeatedly getting in the face of the opposing fanbase and telling them to f*ck off, go suck a d*ck, etc.

The +30 crowd was super (hospitable, apologetic for the younger group, thrilled we came to their town to spend our money). The young crowd? Unable to conjugate a sentence without the word f*ck and lots of “like to fight” types.

this man speaks the truth. the adults went out of there way to make sure we had a good time. the kids were fricking dumb.

These posts are silly for the most part.

The trip was fun, the atmosphere was great, 99% of their fans were great, I was treated better there than Tuscaloosa, Oxford etc. I have seen WAY WORSE behavior by our fans. Who the hell are LSU fans to talk about treating opposing fans badly.

This was more like our experience. Had a couple WVA youths say stupid non-threathing things, we just laughed it off. I've been more embarrassed by our own idiots at the BCS. Even had a young student give us a tour of the campus. Spent 4 days there, Saturday all day in the RV lot next to the stadium, they even had signs inviting us to have a drink with them. Shook hundreds of hands before and after the game. Our experience was great sorry to hear about the people on here having problems because it reflects on the 99% of their fan base that were really great.

3. We hit the Pirates/Reds baseball game on Friday night at PNC Park. Extremely nice baseball stadium. I’d guess there were 2,000-3,000 LSU fans in attendance.

I had a really good time at the game. All of the locals in Pittsburgh were very nice. Many came up to me and wished LSU luck in the game and made no bones about the fact that they HATE WVU I then wished their guys luck vs. Notre Dame. That ended up not going so well for them though...

The Pirates game was fun, considering it was a September game between 2 teams way out of the race. The Pirates won in the bottom of the ninth with a furious rally. The fans went into a frenzy when the video board played a clip from Pirates of the Caribbean that urged them to "hoist the colors". It was wild.

Agree totally that the older WVU fans were a kinder, gentler breed. They were warm, welcoming, and pretty classy. The younger ones were a bunch of dumbfricks that were just worth avoiding altogether.

Very saddened by this, guys. I hung with many of you and had a blast with you all. I talked to a lot of LSU fans that said they had a great time. Then again, I'm almost thirty and don't act a fool. We are really trying to change the culture up here, but sometimes you just can't help some of these kids. There is a huge NJ population at WVU and to be honest....they like to take things a little too far..
I wish I would have had the chance to hang with some of you who had a bad time....my friends and I would have probably made the difference. I gave away at least $300 worth of Magic Hat #9 just to get your boys hammered and show them the real WV hospitality.
