What an impartial sounding police department.
quote:

Stats are for losers.

So do you just think if a team wins all sides of the ball played well, and if they lost, all sides played like shite?
quote:

YOu were going to go for it on 4th and six deep in your own territory when you were losing by thirteen? That seems unlikely.

Given the fact we were down 13 to the #2 team and the clock was somewhat winding down, I'd say so. Seems like a good idea to get some momentum prior to the half. That's my take anyways.
quote:

Les basically says "HA. I spit on your offense. Take the penalty and give them 3rd down again". I'm pretty sure we all wondered WTF on that call;

I'm pretty sure any coach would have done that in this position, it was quite obvious we were going to go for it on 4th and we had been somewhat moving the ball. Miles didn't exactly pull the craziest move there. There is something like 47 seconds on the clock, give WVU a shot at a first down or make them throw it on 3rd and 19?

That said we had the game within 7 at one point and a Special Teams play broke our spirits. I would say LSU Sp. Teams and Offense shamed us, I think the WVU offense is the only that kept us relevant till the 3rd, so no, no shaming.
Guess you're right, damn that is a ridiculous penalty. Aside from putting on a broadway performance at the 3 yard line I doubt we'll ever see it used. What a stupid penalty.

It doesn't negate the TD, it adds 15 on to the PAT. It's only ever been really enforced in that infamous Washington game where Locker threw the ball up after scoring and they missed the PAT to lose, after that no ref has the balls to flag it unless it's straight up Reggie Bush flip into the endzone status.

That would be the worst rule ever if it negated a TD, that would be like a hold after an interception negating the Int.

Its all a bunch of our rivals fans posing as Tigers to stir shite up

LOL I've always gotten a kick out of this classic message board excuse.
What's this boards obsession with "class"
quote:

He probably tried to kick him, but he came up short.....

Was trying to kick a guy about 30 yards down parking lot in stride but instead nailed a guy right in the chest about 15 yards center lot?
There's likely not enough evidence to conclude the extent of his involvement in the harm inflicted outside of that he was involved in some manner. The prosecution have to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was in fact the one who delivered the most violent blows, and in a situation like this with as many people involved it just seems impossible.

this guy Snogs comes over here every evening to get a rise out of us. Been doing it the past 3 days.

I don't think I've actually said anything particularly inflammatory, there are just several fans here who can't have anything but positive LSU news spoon fed to them 24/7. (Ok that was the first inflammatory thing I've said)

As for the gentleman asking me to name the names and instances of the players, I'll be frank I'm not going to sit down and go back through the game for that. But when Herbstreit and Musburger start to bring it up, that's around the instances I'm referring to.

Secondly as for MikeDahTiger, it's nice you wouldn't spend 4 days on our board, but you kind of have spent 4 days following me around and hassling me on this board, so I'm not quite sure what that says. Honestly we play Bowling Green next and Tiger Rant is far more entertaining (for better or worse... mostly worse) than reading countless realignment rumors or what our strategy vs Bowling Green is.

As for what I've said, still don't see the big hub-ub about it. If WVU was playing a no huddle offense and they were gassed I would expect them to dive too, and I would have no issue with it. It's naive to think it's not part of the game, and it's naive to think it doesn't happen everywhere. Just as mystified by the whining over here am I by the whining on BGN and in the WVU locker room. If our offense is so fragile that a few pauses breaks it then we were going to falter either way. The WVU locker room just made it very clear to everyone that they let the Tigers into their head.
quote:

Butt Hurt? Who the F is still here on Wednesday talking about a game that happened 4 days ago? It's over... Move along now.

I've made no excuses, I'm not bitter in the least, we got run into the ground. I actually haven't seen any WVU fans on this board make excuses, I've seen a few give a dose of truth that a healthy amount of Tiger fans didn't want to hear. But haven't seen any sour grapes.

I lived in Lincoln from '01-'04. Baseball is the 2nd most popular of the Univ. of Nebraska's teams, much more than basketball. Their off-campus stadium has > 10K.

I lived in Omaha for a period of time as well, that has a lot to do with Rosenblatt being in the state. If any state holds the national championship every year, it's going to kick up the interest in that sport in the surrounding area.
quote:

You mean like Brockers? Hebert? or Adams whose had cramp problems all year. Have you seen the roster of non-practice players this week?

Point out the line where I said all players faked injuries. This is the problem, you're seeing them make a comment about a select few plays and applying it to an entire game.

Also kudos to be able string in the butt hurt comment while simultaneously complaining about holding, as if that couldn't have easily gone both ways.
Most overused word on Tiger Rant? Class. It's almost as bad as BGN's obsession with twitter rumors.
No argument here. Our baseball program is a joke, it's been run by the same coach for like 20 years and he's been sucking the whole time. The program is an embarassment, all the players hate Van Zant (the coach), they all are pretty up front with how much of a egomaniacal dick he is. The park is a laughing stock, players use the same bathrooms as fans and the locker rooms aren't attached to the building. Our friggin satellite schools are actually better than us.

Pat White was drafted by MLB 4 times, he was never once asked to come out for the team, when the media asked him why he felt he was never invited to play he said "If you look at the make up of that team, not a lot of guys look like me" He's pretty much right.

Sad problem is though that right next to that miserable field is actually an amazing soccer complex with two amazing teams, but the SEC doesn't have soccer (found that odd) so we'd have to pull a USC and play in the C-USA for that.
Why both fanbases are bitchy over this is beyond me. It's a strategy that we (WVU) would have employed as well if we needed it because it obviously works. I don't really care if it's classy or not, this is football not the friggin ballet, it stops being something you can call class right about the time you drive a guy into the ground. It's a tactic, it worked.

That said, LOL at the LSU fans thinking their players didn't do this. I mean come one guys, it's was like a soccer game. Go to the ground, act like you've been shot, slowly walk to the sideline, take 1 play off, good as new! Not even cramps are the quickly recovered from.

Both sides look like idiots, the Eer fans for thinking it actually mattered/getting pissy, the Tigers for thinking it didn't happen.
quote:

are worth the $20Million Dollar Buyout.

LOL wut?

You understand they're the ones that pay the buy out. No ACC team is going to pay 20 million dollars for what is in all honesty a lateral move outside of competitiveness.
quote:

I think it's VTech

They're practically tethered at the leg to UVA after it took the Governor to get the ACC to drop Cuse the first time around and take them instead. VT won't go anywhere, especially not at a 20 mil buy out.
